A few months ago I decided the rent increases at my apartment in the city were getting ridiculous and it was time to move. I started looking for other places in San Francisco but couldn't find anything which I was happy with and which would be a good value so I started looking at Oakland. At some point during my search I started considering buying instead of renting but had no idea where to start. I picked a few places off sites like redfin and began contacting the agents. Several got back to me but I ultimately chose to work with Remy and am glad I did. Don't be fooled by the suit and serious looking pic. Remy is not a sleazy car salesman type trying to pressure or convince you to buy something so he can get paid. I probably checked out and discussed at least 30 different places during the course of my interaction with Remy. He was patient and courteous the whole way. There was a point where I was worried that he would stop working with me because we had checked out so many places together and I wasn't making offers. He was upfront, honest, knowledgeable, and above all EXTREMELY accessible. Anytime I had a concern or question and called or texted Remy I had fully confidence that he would either immediately pick up/text back or else respond very shortly after. This promptness was consistent throughout even when I was bad about responding to him. I never hesitated to contact him for questions, advice, setting up times to view a place, or any multitude of other considerations which came up during my first home buying experience. In the end I was able to purchase one of my top choice places for a price I'm satisfied with in no small part due to Remy's help and expertise specifically with the East Bay. As a first time purchaser and after having gone through this with Remy, I'm not sure how an agent I work with in the future can expand upon my knowledge of the home buying process.

Bought a Single Family home in 2015 for approximately $350K in Rodeo, CA.

If you are reading this you may wondering like me how well can you trust this review. Believe me this is coming from an honest and true place. I just had to take the time to express how happy my husband and I are with the services Remy provided. He was effecient, honest, skilled, and REAL. This process was overwhelming at times, but he helped ease us through, ready and able to answer questions or what ever was needed. We don't think you could find a better agent. I want to publically thank him and look forward to working with him again in the future. By the way, we started looking in November....after listening to his knowledgeable instructions, bid in December....closed escrow in January. He means business!!!!

Bought a Condo home in 2014 for approximately $350K in Produce & Waterfront, Oakland, CA.

Remy was a pleasure to work with. He made himself available at all times during our house hunting and eventual purchase of our condo in Jack London Square. His negotiation skills and knowledge of the area were instrumental in getting us the right place at a great price. I'd recommend Remy if you are looking to buy in Oakland or the surrounding areas.

Bought a home in 2014.

Remy hooked me up! Just when I was beginning to lose hope for the perfect Oakland pad, Remy turned up with the inside scoop on a property that I thought I had missed out on. That's where an agent really adds value and stands apart!

Remy helped make the nerve-wrecking process of first-time home buying in the Bay Area go as smoothly as possible, was responsive and clear in answering my many questions, and was resourceful and helpful, even after closing.

Bought a Single Family home in 2014 for approximately $450K in Piedmont Avenue, Oakland, CA.

My spouse and I bought a condo in Oakland with Remy's help. He was an excellent guide in all aspects of the process, from assessing our needs, showing us appropriate properties, advising on negotiations, to taking us through closing. If we decide to get another place, Remy is out man.

Bought a Single Family home in 2008 for approximately $425K in Antioch, CA.

f you are planing on purchasing a house I would diffenintly go with Remy. He is very knowledgable about the market. He will make sure you find the right house at the right price. He won't stop until you are satisfied. We looked at more than 20 houses before we found the right one. He answered all my questions. If for some reason he wasn't sure he would get back to me in a timely manner. He always made me feel positive and never discouraged. I also refer all of my family and friends because I know Remy will get the job done.

Sold a Townhouse home in 2014 for approximately $175K in Antioch, CA.

My partner and I purchased our first together home last summer and I’m certain that we couldn’t have we couldn't have found a better agent than Remy. From the very first meeting we were able to tell that Remy was the agent for us. He was trustworthy, direct, open and honest about the homes we saw and the process or purchasing post economic meltdown. He was also very responsive to my partners needs as first-time buyer. Calls were always answered and messages were returned in a quick manner. Even after the close of business he still checks in on us and how things are going. Remy oversaw the purchase of my home prior to this one and us sold in 24 hours above asking process. As a home service provider I can tell you quality service is hard to find and Remy still believes in it. If you are looking to purchase property in the Bay Area, call Remy. You won't regret it.

Bought a Condo home in 2014 for approximately $425K in Eastmont Hills, Oakland, CA.

My partner and I purchased our first home in October of this year. This was an extraordinarily challenging process given the current market for buyers. I am so glad we had Remy Weinstein by our side through this process. We found Remy through his colleague, Anthony Cassel, at East Bay Sotheby's real estate. We worked with him for several months until we found the right house for us.

Remy made this very challenging process much easier for us for many reasons:

1) Remy KNOWS the east bay and the neighborhoods very well. He was always honest about the areas we were looking in and what he thought the houses were worth and if the neighborhood would meet our needs. We looked all over Oakland and he was up on each area we found houses in. 2) He knows the best way to search for the right home and sent us real leads whenever they came up on the MLS listings. 3) He is very responsive and quick to reply to any communications I had and felt like he was always available when questions or needs arose. 4) He was always honest and I felt he gave us real, useful information and made it easier to walk away if the property wasn't right. 5) He's a great negotiator and knows the price homes will go for. He has connections that ultimately helped our offer to be accepted.

Thanks to Remy we have enjoyed the holidays with our family in our new home! Remy is a truly talented, hardworking and caring realtor that made the whole process much easier for us and I highly recommend him to anyone wanting to buy a home in the Oakland area. He truly deserves 5 stars!

Sold a Single Family home in 2012 for approximately $350K in Laurel, Oakland, CA.

We cannot recommend Remy highly enough!! We've been through three transactions with Remy now and he just keeps getting better!!!! We love Remy because: -- his advice on pricing our bid for a foreclosure is spot-on. When we followed it, we succeeded and hen we didn't... we lost. -- His marketing skills got our home sold for over asking price in 1 day! -- His local knowledge is outstanding: accurate and deep -- His follow-thru is thorough and complete -- REMY GETS DEALS DONE!

Below is our original recommendation for Remy. Since then we bought another house thru him for our daughter and then listed our home with him. We set the price at a new high for the neighborhood because the home was a total remodel. Remy did such an outstanding job of marketing to other realtors and getting the word out about the open house that our home sold in a day to someone who came to the open house - and for OVER ASKING! Remy helped negotiate the deal with the Buyer's agent, and oversaw the whole sale process.

Remy is as true jewel and a real find! He helped us negotiate for a short sale home for my daughter. It's taking forever to happen (thanks to a totally non-responsive bank). He's been amazingly patient about showing us alternatives so we can get her settled! He uses the latest technology to make the whole process as simple and convenient as possible. His dedication, unfailing good humor, and responsiveness are outstanding! We are so impressed with Remy, both in terms of his job knowledge and also his whole approach to customer relations, that he will be our choice for selling our current home in another month or so. We HIGHLY RECOMMEND Remy!

Bought a Single Family home in 2014 for approximately $500K in Eastmont Hills, Oakland, CA.

My husband and I purchased our first home this summer. I am convinced that we couldn’t have found a better agent than Remy.

From the very first phone call, we were able to tell that Remy was very down-to-earth. As we got to know him better, he also proved to be honest, trustworthy, and precise throughout the buying process. If he didn’t know the answer to a question, he would find out and get back to us in almost no time.

He was also very responsive to to our needs as first-time buyers. He quickly returned every phone call and spent hours at a time showing houses, answering questions, and explaining documents at our convenience, often during evenings and weekends. We never felt rushed or pressured into anything; we could tell that he genuinely wanted to help us find something that suited us. We truly felt like he cared about us as people and that we more more than just a sale to him.

Even after the close of escrow, he continued to answer our questions, run errands, and provide help. If that’s not a sign of an agent that truly cares, I don’t know what is!

We have lived in our house for over a few months now and we are still amazed at how great of a deal we got on our house. We could never have done gotten such a wonderful home at a great price without the help and advice of Remy. If you are looking to purchase real estate in the Oakland area, call Remy. You won’t regret it.
