Sold a home in 2014.
Robert helped us with the sale of our Wicker Park condo and never in our years of buying and selling real estate have we ever worked with such a competent, knowledgeable and sophisticated agent. He is truly one of a kind, and our experience exceeded his reputation as one of the top Chicago agents. Robert makes you feel as if you are is only client (with his patience, client service and 24 hour a day work ethic), and he truly cares about doing a superior job for his clients, not just getting a deal done.

We set the bar very high for Robert; and, not only did he meet expectations, he blew them away. Robert sold our condo more quickly than we expected and at an excellent price, all while fully accommodating our demanding schedules and requests. Through his years of experience and vast network in the Chicago market, Robert knows how to make things happen quickly and effortlessly. We would give Robert our highest recommendation and would without hesitation recommend him to anyone looking to buy or sell a home.

Bought a home in 2014.
My wife and I decided late in 2013 to buy a condo in Lincoln Park/Bucktown that could be used for our college-aged children and eventually become a quality investment property for ourselves. We originally were working with another agent whose lack of patience and professionalism was painfully obvious. We met Robert at showing of one his properties and immediately saw he was the "real deal" when it came to Lincoln Park/Bucktown real estate.

Over the next five months (yes, five months) Robert took us on endless showings as we searched for something that met our ever-changing purchase parameters. He always had a smile on his face and never once did he make us feel like we were burdensome or a bother.

Eventually, we found the perfect place which we closed on today.

At every turn of the process, Robert (and his faithful assistant, Adrienne) made us feel like we were their only client. Every call, every email, every petty request, regardless of the time of day (usually late at night), were responded to quickly and succinctly. A feat of customer-service that seems to be a lost art in today's world of "don't waste my time if you're not buying right away." Even his recommendation for a closing attorney was 100% spot-on.

We constantly joke that he is our "realtor for life". After our first buying experience with him, that title was truly earned. Can't imagine we'd ever use anyone else. And we won't.

Sold a Condo home in 2012 for approximately $450K in South Loop, Chicago, IL.
It would take a book to write all the ways Robert exemplifies professionalism. At the risk of giving away his success secrets-I can tell you that he listens, really listens, then does all the hard behind the scenes tasks, like hiring a professional photographer, conducting database searches, establishing a personalized strategy for us, all this before the results are on the internet-THE listing. It works. Our home had several potential buyers less than 24 hours after being listed on the internet websites and a successful closing took place a month later.

Sold a Multi Family home in 2013 for approximately $475K in Wicker Park, Chicago, IL.
Hiring Robert John Anderson to sell my property was the best decision ever made. Never in my wildest dreams did I expect the property to sell so quickly - sold within two weeks; closed in less than 30 days. :) Was expecting a long summer of being on market. Not saying every sale will be this successful but in my case it was an unbelieveably positive experience. Fortunately Robert's keen experience and great insight, knows how to match a home to a buyer. Robert is easy to work with, not pushy and right on the money when pricing the property. And considering all the anxiety involved in selling even my tenants thought it went smoothly. I'd hire Robert again in an instant if I had another property to sell. Kudo's to Robert and his right hand assistant Adrienne... it was a happy experience. Thank you Robert!!

Sold a Single Family home in 2013 for approximately $1.175M in Bucktown, Chicago, IL.
Robert recently helped me with the sale of my contemporary home. He knows contemporary very well and was very consultative in knowing what a contemporary buyer wants and expects. Throughout the sales process, he always went above and beyond. I would definitely use him again in the future.

We connected, but it did not work out. Looking in Bucktown, Chicago, IL 60614
Robert was not transparent as to what was happening behind the scenes during our rental process. After her verbally agreed to our tenancy and took our signed lease/security deposit, he reneged four business days prior to our move-in date. Not only did he break his promise, but he was also unwilling to help in any fashion correct the situation. Not only is this horrible business, but left us in and unwinnable situation.

On September 14, 2013 myself and two other potential co-tenants visited 2736 North Southport #1, one of Robert's properties. Two days later, on September 17, 2013 we decided to move forward. Between September 17 and September 23 the three of (collectively) as potential tenants, had our credit reports processed. At this time we put together our security deposit to show good faith and demonstrate intent until the lease was ready. We received the lease and signed it on the morning of October 2, 2013. Due to our travel schedules, we agreed (on October 6, 2013) that we would meet with Robert on October 12, 2013 to hand over the signed lease and also have our final walk through. At 9:45 am October 12, 2013 we handed over the signed lease and agreed to our final move-in date of October 20, 2013. Robert did mention to us that the owners might change throughout the duration of our lease, but specifically told us that everything we agreed as defined in our lease would not change. At that point in time we considered ourselves tenants of 2736 North Southport #1 and confirmed all of our plans to move on October 20th, including movers, furniture shipments, first month’s rent, and finally terminating all of our currently leases and moving out.

On October 14, two days after we signed our lease and agreed to move-in date, Robert informed us that you he (representing the owners) was no longer interested in leasing and will not honor the agreement (signed lease) made with us. This left us four business days to find a house given the fact that we terminated our current living arrangements based on Robert’s verbal reassurance and signed lease.

Jim-I do apologize for any misunderstanding, but we never had an executed lease. Yes the landlord & I did give your broker a verbal acceptance in Sept without paperwork. It then took you & roommates 3 weeks to provide a completed application that we could process & present properly to the landlord for review & approval. We scheduled a meeting at the property so you & roommates could sign your side of the lease & give me the checks. I immediately forwarded your lease to the owners for their final review. The next day I heard from the owners. They had decided to no longer rent the unit. Instead they would forge forward with their offers for sale. I contacted your broker immediately. Please remember, you & your broker knew that the property was actively being shown & marketed for sale. I was overly transparent & did my best to make you aware of all that was going on with the property. I am sorry; I do understand this left you to identify a new apartment in a very short amount of time.

Sold a home in 2013.
Robert John Anderson and his staff took all of the stress out of the sale of our home. He had complete knowledge of every listing in our neighborhhood. His rolodex of contacts were invaluable from start to finish as he helped us contact potential buyers and their agents, photographers, lawyers, landscapers, and repairmen. I had complete faith in his pricing strategy and timeline. In short, he was professional, good-humored and easy to work with. I will definitely use him and his team again for all my future Chicago real estate transactions!

Sold a home in 2012.
Robert is the best sell-side agent in the Wicker Park and Bucktown neighborhoods. Period. He has a firm grip on local inventory at all times, and he understands what makes properties unique and valuable to buyers. He could have sold our home several times over for lesser amounts, but instead of settling for a good offer, he got us the best offer.
