Well, it basicly seems unanimous. My home is over 3100 sf but there really isn't a spot to be inconspicuous. So we will "get out of Dodge". I do have a sheet that I leave with a list of recent repairs and improvements that are not readily visible. My wife loves the idea of leaving. Excuse to eat out. Thanks everybody for taking time to respond.
Thanks Marci. I just did that. I think more people would be tempted if they were advised of this on the poll page and an actual page for totals on the various polls that had a high degree of response.
Years ago, after living in our present home for about 10 years, an agent friend of mine (now deceased) told me "Move don't improve". He said "Don'tbe the Jones'. Chances are the neighbors won't keep up". So here I am 20 years later, with whats considered as one of the nicest homes in this section of our sudivision, surrounded by very low comps from houses that really don't compare. A lesson learned too late. Fred wasn't just trying to drum up business, he was absolutely right on.
millieliteThanks for your kind words. I am not sure which home you were looking at, but ours is priced at 225,000. This is explained somewhat in "I should havelistened post".
Been with an agent and informed him that we would only list for 90 days. It is really not that essential that we sell anytime soon. If not sold, might list it again early next year. Best wishes for you.
millieliteI think curb appeal is important (yard work). Give them the paint allowance if they ask so they can have it painted a color of their own choosing. In my case, we must of sunk close to 100k in renovations. This is noexaggeration. This is the area of expense I was referring to. However, we have thoroughly enjoyed all the results for many years, but from a financial investment standpoint, it was just dumb.
