What can I say about Sheldon that hasn't been said before. Sheldon is truly one of the most compassionate, knowledgable, and caring individuals, let alone realtors, that I have ever met.
My wife and I met with Sheldon in his office on a Friday afternoon, and within one week we had an accepted offer on our new home in Fair Lawn, NJ. Sheldon completely understood what we were looking for, and was always reachable for any questions we had. He began by giving us a quick overview of how home buying works (my wife and I were first-time homebuyers). After that, he was off looking for homes.
When we would mention a house we wanted to see, he would make sure he was there for us to see it that day. It is really incredible how quickly he gets around, especially considering he was recovering from leg surgery when showing us houses.
On the day we found our home, we came through to view it at 7:00pm, and we decided we wanted to put an offer on it. Sheldon was able to go over the process by conference call from 9-10pm at night, and he was writing a cover letter for us long after I went to sleep. Our offer was on paper, and in front of the seller by the morning.
After we got an accepted offer, Sheldon was there for every step, whether they were part of his job or not. He helped expedite the process between our lawyer, lender, and ourselves.

So if you are scrolling through these reviews, you are probably going to end up saying to yourself, Sheldon just can't be this good. Well, we are here to stop that thought in its tracks. He just plain is THAT GOOD. We had our home up for sale for 18 months before we chose to go with Sheldon. We had a few showings here and there but overall the process was disappointing. Then we turned our real estate aspirations over to Sheldon, and it was like putting the whole experience on a rocket ship. Always courteous, Sheldon made a few suggestions about what to do in the house (nothing a weekend didn't take care of) and off we went. We got constant showings! I swear we spent more time in the car than we did in the house the first few weeks Sheldon had our listing because we were always having visitors! We had more showings in the first week than we had in the previous 6 months.
Once we had an offer on the line, we immediately turned our attention to the purchase side on which Sheldon was equally adept. He handled our negotiation on the purchase side with extreme care as we had basically found our dream home for which we had been looking for over 2 years.
Then, to top it all off, as we were finally in the mechanics of the purchase and sale, Sheldon turned out one of the most professional networks of real estate services I've ever seen. The mortgage company, the inspectors, and the homeowner's insurance agency he referred us to were all on top of their game and gave us great advice along the way. We even switched our car insurance while we were at it the rates were so good.
To close out this review, there really is no reason to use anyone else. Sheldon should be your first and only call. Because you know he's going to call you back within seconds.
It would be impossible to express how fantastic Sheldon is, but I'll do my best. My husband and I were referred to Sheldon by my sister who had a wonderful experience with him, and she was insistent that I use him because he was so good to her.
In June of 2012, we were ready to officially start the process to buy our first home, so we contacted Sheldon. He responded immediately to my email, and got to work right away on finding us homes that fit our criteria. He was always available to us, whether it be through email, text, or call. I would hear from him the day I would reach out, usually within minutes.
Sheldon set up multiple visits to nearby houses, and he was always honest with us as he helped us find the right home. I knew that he would lead us in the right direction, and never once did I just feel like another client. He genuinely cared about us and finding us the right home. I felt like I was working with a friend, rather than a realtor that I had only known for a few weeks.
When we found a home in Waldwick that we immediately knew we'd like to put an offer on, he got right to work. It was a Sunday evening, and he was in contact right away with the seller's realtor putting in a bid for us. He guided us through the process of placing an offer and what would be needed from our mortgage company. Unfortunately, the house was so great that it received many other offers, higher than we would be able to compete with. I was devastated, and Sheldon was incredibly sympathetic in delivering the bad news through my tears. He knew exactly what to say, and he was positive that he would find us our home. Although I was very disappointed with our first "loss," I felt better knowing he was going to continue to help us.
After that, we visited a home in Emerson that we had seen a week or two before with Sheldon. We kept thinking about the house, and although I didn't fall in love with it right away, something kept it at the back of my mind. It was bigger than we had been looking for and had many of the key features we wanted: two full baths, a large basement, and a nice sized yard. It needed work, but something about it felt right. We were afraid to pass up what felt like a great opportunity for us in my husband's hometown, so we decided to put in an offer. Again, Sheldon was efficient with the process, and got the ball rolling right away. We heard from him the night we placed our offer, and we were asked for a counter. We decided to go back lower than the seller requested from us, with another offer on the table, because it felt right to us. Sheldon supported us fully and told us that he would do his best to sell us, and that he did. We found out the next day that they had accepted, and I knew that it was because Sheldon went above and beyond, selling our story to the sellers, making us the best possible buyers.
As we started the buying process, Sheldon was there to answer every one of my thousand questions. As a first time buyer, we had MANY questions, and he never once was unreachable. I felt like I was constantly texting him to ask questions, and he never made me feel like a bother. He was kind, compassionate, and so incredibly knowledgeable. He offered to do our home inspection at 7 a.m. because we were going on vacation and had to have it done! He even went out to get us coffee for the early morning. Another save by Sheldon was when we found out two days before our closing that the mortgage company wanted a handrail put in the upstairs staircase or they wouldn't close. I was in a frenzy and panicked that our closing would get pushed back, and we had to be out of our apartment. Sheldon refused to let that happen, and yet again inconvenienced himself to help us. He met me at the house at 8 p.m. after he finished his work day so that my father could install the banister.
Because of him, my husband and I are living in our dream house in one of our favorite towns, and we have started our new journey. I still talk to Sheldon regularly whether it be a text to say hello, or an email to check in on our construction progress. He was the first person that I sent pictures to as we began construction on our kitchen, and he could not have been happier for us.
I consider Sheldon a friend now, and I look forward to seeing his continued success with new clients. He is the epitome of a realtor, and he is what every home buyer deserves to have by their side. I intend to recommend him to anyone that is looking for a realtor. It is important to have someone reliable, compassionate, professional, intelligent, and honest, and that is exactly what Sheldon is. He made a scary, stressful, and sometimes upsetting process go as smoothly as possible and held our hand through it all. I am so grateful to him. I know after using him, all others will be as well.
In order to include everything I would like to say about Sheldon, I'd have to write a book! The selling of our home was probably one of the most difficult that Sheldon has ever experienced (and hopefully ever will). After two years of ups and downs and a few heartbreaks, Sheldon never gave up and was always optimistic. He really came through for us at the most important time when we found a home we loved and absolutely had to get our house sold. Sheldon immediately dropped everything for us and went right to work with open houses, advertising, and very enticing wording on our listing. He got us not one, but three buyers right when we needed them. Even after the contracts were signed, it was not an easy road for us, but Sheldon was right there when we needed him!
Now when I pull up to my new, beautiful home, I am reminded how lucky we were to have Sheldon on our side. I couldn't have asked for anyone more professional and hardworking than Sheldon. He really did every possible thing he could for us to make our dreams come true! We thank you so much for everything, Sheldon. You are the best!!!
Sheldon was an absolutley incredible realtor. He made the sometimes-overwhelming short sale process easy and painless. Any questions I had, he was always available and accessible. I would not hesitate to contact him again for any real estate needs, even if it was just for advice. Where do we start? Well, As first time home buyers, my husband and I were not sure who we were going to use as a realtor. As many others out there, we started out responding to adds, and giving out our information to numerous realators to help us. Were we're activately looking for over a year Then gave up out of pure frustration, then Sheldon came along. From the word go, he never stopped working for us. He was always accessible when we had our doubts and, or questions about certain properties. We had a few deals fall through by circumstance and as we were about to just give up, Sheldon always gave us the encouragement that our dream house was out there and to keep looking. Well he was right and he helped us get into our dream home! He honestly never stopped working for us, a true professional.
