djsappraiser - sorry to hear that your listings aren't moving. This is obviously a little self-serving (since I work @ Zillow), but you should consider buying EZAds for your listings. Let me explain -- I clicked through on your screenname and went to your profile page (http://www.zillow.com/profile/djsappraiser) and then went to see your listings from there. Frankly, they don't have very many pageviews. This listing (http://www.zillow.com/HomeDetails.htm?zprop=2146991862) for example only has 28 pageviews wheras its whole zip code (55204) has over 39,000 views on Zillow. You can see the pageview info in the top portion of the home details page (above the photos) where we show it for all time, or at the bottom of the home details page where we also show it for the current month. With EZAds, you can buy more exposure for your listings by purchasing ads in a specific zip code -- $0.01 each time the ad is shown. You can learn more here: https://www.zillow.com/ezads/MyAds.htmHope that's helpful.
Thanks for your comments. We try to clean up spam on Q&A. We don't allow agents (or anyone) to repetitively post the same thing over and over. I agree -- it's annoying, and unhelpful. Please continue to flag content that you find spammy -- we look at every single thing that has been flagged (and most stuff that hasn't been). - spencer (from Zillow)
The median difference between a MMM price and a zestimate is 17%. We think that about 10% of MMM homeowners have received interest from a buyer. No, we don't know what the typical difference is between sale price and the original MMM price is.
Forgot about Cactus - my bad. I do like that place. And I like Thai Ginger too.dorothy2004 - i totally agree with you. What is the deal with all of those random bad clothing stores?
i don't think there's any central planning, but i'm not sure. There is the Historic Madison Park association that is always referenced in the Madison Park Times Newspaper, but i'm not exactly sure what their deal is.
The house across the street from mine has been on the market for a few months, and the agent (or owner?) just put a few balloons on the open house sign. I thought this was kind of silly -- I doubt that the problem is that people aren't noticing the for sale sign when driving by. Also, at first I thought it meant that there was an open house, which isn't the case.So I'm curious -- to homesellers (agents and owners): in your experience, does putting balloons out front work?
I swear I didn't think of this when i first posed the question, but I guess Zillow's EZAds are an online version of putting balloons on the sign. http://www.zillow.com/ezads/GetStarted.htm?s_cid=ez-site-reprolandYeah, I guess for a few bucks it makes sense to just put some balloons out front. Can't hurt, right? Unless neighbors like me ring the door bell thinking the house is open. ;)
