When we began contemplating selling our downtown condo in San Jose my first step was to find a great real estate agent. Since Steve has sold several condos in my area and had mailed information to us, I put him on my interview list. My goal was to find an agent compatible to my personality and expectations. Through the interview and selling process I got to know Steve. Seemingly there are not enough superlatives to describe Steve's skill set but here is my attempt: great communicator, respectful in all matters, integrity which builds trustworthiness, timely ( important for real estate deadlines), prepared and offers alternatives and recommendations in difficult situations, open to refining or honing his skills and abilities and kindness ( how could we endure difficult real estate situations without Steve's kindness and understanding?). As a business professor I get many requests for recommendations, surveys, and letters for students, businesses, and individuals but, this review or recommendation is a real pleasure to write because Steve is everything I wrote about and more. Our condo sold in a timely manner, and we are thankful to Steve for his leadership and guidance through the entire process. Don't settle for just any agent, choose Steve and you'll have a great story to share similar to mine!
Bought a Single Family home in 2014 for approximately $725K in North Valley, San Jose, CA.
My wife and I had a great experience with Steve, who is a very informative and knowledgeable person. He provided us valuable opinions about how he looks at houses in terms of location, condition, future value, etc. Steve is patient and precise when explaining terminologies to us. He is easy to reach as well as fast responding. When buying a house, people are likely to encounter some unexpected situations like we did, but Steve has plenty of experience to handle these problems. He is also extremely helpful not only when we are shopping, but also after that when we were doing remodeling. Even though that part was not his responsibility.

Danny & Eva, it is always fun to put a newly married couple into their first home. The sellers told me that when they met you both and read your cover letter they knew they wanted to sell to you. That says a lot about you two.
We worked with Steve to sell our house. He helped us as a seller agent. Steve is very systematic and methodical. He is adequately knowledgeable about the whole process of selling and buying a house and takes time to explain his clients about it. We had a very tight schedule but he was able to make sure everything was handled smoothly and in time. He has also been very helpful in taking care of random issues we had and suggest ways to solve them. I really appreciate the way he helped us by being at home while we were away to attend some repair work. Though he needed some extra convincing to be a bit flexible sometimes, he was flexible enough to listen to us and understand our needs.I highly recommend Steve for any potential sellers.

Bought a Mobile / Manufactured home in 2014 for approximately $125K in North San Jose, San Jose, CA.
I live in VA and bought a home in CA. Without Steven Chin I would probably still be making trips back and forth to CA. Steve’s expertise and attention to detail with the requirements I set forth for him were above reproach! Steve called me on A Saturday about my home, we made an offer and within 48 hours I was on a plane to California purchasing my house that same week. I do not recommend services or people very well due to the fact that one’s experience may not live up to the standards of another’s, but in this case I absolutely recommend Steve Chin for the purchasing as well as buying of any home in the state of California. Thank you Steve, you made my families dreams come true!

As first time buyers we were quite nervous about finding the right realtor. We met Steve by chance at an open house that he was hosting, and after a while patiently answering our beginner's questions, we knew we'd found our guy. Steve has been an immense help throughout our buying process - taking time to listen to our likes and dislikes and counselling us on how much house we could expect to get with our budget. When looking at houses he would provide great notes - pointing out both good and bad features, and advising us on what it would take to fix the bad. Finally, his ability to build relationships with other agents helped get our offer approved. Overall we feel we were in good hands with Steve, and thoroughly recommend him.

Steve Chin was my agent in selling my home of over 25 years in Almaden Valley and then also helped to locate my next residence. I really appreciated his ability to handle all of the arrangements to get my home ready to put on the market. There was so much to do and he coordinated it all beautifully. The target dates were all met due to his skillful organization. He is very up to date on the latest technology for listing homes in the internet and he used quality virtual reality photos of our home. My home sold within 10 days for a very good price.
He also was good at listening to my needs when matching me up with my new residence. Steve also understands financing due to his years as a mortgage broker.

Steve was recommended by a relative whose opinion we respect. Being first-time home buyers, finding a home in the competitive South Bay market was a daunting task to say the least. However we felt very confident and protected every step of the way under Steve’s expert guidance. From the very first phone call, we were put at ease with his good humor, integrity and articulate manner. He asked the right questions and explained the process very clearly and patiently. As we continued working with Steve, he helped us focus and figure out what we really wanted in a house. With every property we saw, he was able to point out and explain the features and flaws in the design/construction and was often able to give info on the background of the builder. This allowed us to become confident in evaluating the houses we saw on our own. One great thing about working with good people is that they know other good people. For instance, when we were having problems with our existing loan, Steve referred us to an excellent loan broker who matched us with a new lender with much better terms. Whenever we saw a house we liked, Steve quickly provided us with all the disclosures and obtained answers to all the questions we thought to ask (and many we didn't think of :) His price comps were always spot on and allowed us to submit strong yet reasonable offers. The end result was that Steve’s savvy advice and experience allowed us to navigate a challenging multiple-offer sale and buy our dream home. During escrow his persistence and attention to detail kept the seller, lender and title company on track to ensure it closed successfully (despite a govt shutdown!).
Bottom line is that Steve is very hard-working and treats each client as if they were his only one. We really enjoyed working with him and are grateful to have found him!

Ed, you and Phoi, hands down are the fastest learners I have ever worked with. After a while you started to school me on the construction of the property! Even during the contract negotiations, escrow and loan process, you were right there absorbing all the necessary information. And when it came time to act, you did so decisively resulting in success. Thank you for all your kind comments but I believe you both make up the other half of our team.
