Did President Obama help the housing situation with the tax credit?

My belief is that the tax credit only gave tax payer dollars to people who were going to buy anyway.  Additionally, it compressed approximately 8 months of buying activity into the first 5-6 months of the year.  As a result, we are currently seeing less than exciting numbers of buyers looking at houses every weekend and even fewer writing offers.  As painful as this thought is, Uncle Sam needs to get out of the way and let the markets correct on their own.  Government intervention is only prolonging the pain.

Do you think home staging is something people will use in a recession?

In our market, there is limited supply of great homes and as such, I am still a major supporter of staging.  While sellers may be a bit more budget conscious, staging is still key.

Is the Fourth of July weekend a good time to have an open house or a bad time?

I made a big push to bring two listings on the market last weekend so that I wouldn't be faced with the necessity of doing open houses on the 4th of July.  Enjoy your weekend and get back on it the following weekend, when 90% of the country won't be BBQ'ing, boating, etc....
