Steve is from the Chicago area and moved to San Francisco originally in 1991 after finishing school at University of Colorado/Boulder.  After college he worked in Europe for a bike touring company for five years.  After his time in Europe, he moved back to Chicago to attend Northwestern University for a Master's in Transportation.

He worked in technology and logistics/transportation for several years.

In 2003, Steve got started in real estate back in San Francisco.  His mentor at Coldwell Banker was Jim Laufenberg and he was able to learn from the best!  Steve has been with MidPacific Real Estate since 2008 and has been working both in the traditional and the distressed market (short sales and foreclosures).

In addition to helping various buyers and sellers achieve their dreams, he bought, renovated, and sold a three-unit building in Noe Valley.

He enjoys volunteering with Habitat for Humanity and has worked on projects in Bayview and Crocker Amazon.    In his free time he is usually out riding his bike in Marin or rowing in the bay with the South End Rowing Club.

Bought a Multiple Occupancy home in 2011 for approximately $1.3M in Parnassus - Ashbury, San Francisco, CA.

We had been searching for a very specific property (lots of requirements and not a lot of money) for about three years when we switched realtors and started working with Steve.

I really thought we gave Steve an impossible task, but he called one morning and told me he found had found the right place, and it had just been listed. We took a look that day, and it was exactly what we wanted- right neighborhood, right size, right condition, and right price. Knowing that good deals get snapped up quickly, Steve laid out an aggressive strategy for us to follow. It was Labor Day weekend, and the goal was to get an offer accepted before the masses (and other potential buyers) returned from their 3-day weekend.

I didn't think it could be done, but with some savvy negotiation advice from Steve, and his persistent work on the sellers over the weekend, we were in contract by the end of day Tuesday. We are in the house now and loving it.

Key to getting the deal we got was being the first to see it, reacting quickly, and being persistent with the sellers. As a bonus – Steve has a great relationship with the local realtors, which helps things go easier. He also has a team he works with for financing, inspections, etc… to keep things moving things along.

All in all, we are very happy with our experience.

Sold a Condo home in 2012 for approximately $775K in Central Richmond, San Francisco, CA.

Steve is a great agent. We worked closely with him as we purchased a new home and sold our existing home. Steve knows the market and was able to guide us through the process of writing an offer and negotiating a great deal on our new place. Then, he marketed our old place well and brought in multiple offers. We ended up selling for above our asking price. Steve is also very personable, never pushy, and is a pleasure to work with. Steve was also a huge help after the deal was finished, and provided many excellent recommendations for work that needed to be done. I would strongly recommend him for anyone buying or selling!  More Less
