House sold in tax sale

Response
I lost my house in a tax lien sale.  Can you tell me about HOUSE ENROLLED ACT No. 1090.  The house went to auction on Oct 26th, 2011. I was not notified by mail and now they are telling me that I am being assessed an interest charge of 25.80 a day and now the amount due is almost 8000.00 when the taxes due were only 2850.00?  Do I have any recourse in getting the house back and not paying the 8000.00.  Also, can I sell my house if I have a tax lien.  The house is paid for free and clear, so the money I sell the house for could go to pay the tax lien?

House sold in tax sale

Response
some interest is an understatement.... well it turns out that the IRS did not take the tax money for the house and the house was sold at auction. What the county assessor failed to tell me was that once it was sold, i would be paying daily interest on the price of the home, so my 2800 bill is now around 8000 and growing daily.  and as of april 20 the tax goes to 15 percent.  thank you for the advice on the attorney because the way i am understanding your post is that if i pay the taxes back before the 1 year is up the county can waive the fee and interest added before 2012?  what about after 2012?  how does that work?

House sold in tax sale
My mother passed away in aug of 2009.  The title of the house was transfered to me in early 2010.  I did not pay the property taxes for 2010 and in Indiana, evidently it is one year before they put the house up for tax sale. The house was sold at a tax sale on Oct 26, 2011.  I filled my 2011 taxes and the IRS has taken what was owed for the back property taxes, does that mean the house is mine again since the tax was paid? And how do I go about making sure the title is back in my name and the people who purchased the house no longer have a claim to it?
