There are many qualities and skills that go into being an excellent real estate professional – integrity, in-depth community and market knowledge, marketing savvy, effective negotiation skills and a high-quality professional network, all of which are hallmarks of how I work.

Personal Background
James joined Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage following a lucrative twelve year career in high-end catering sales and special events production in the greater Washington metro area. Because he has experience partnering with a demanding clientele, he is dedicated to providing the utmost in customer service. James really listens and responds to clients' needs, whether the partner is a buyer, a seller or an investor.
Now in his eighth year as a DC realtor, he was recently recognized for "2007 Home Team Spirit" and as "Top Sales Associate 2006 and 2009" for most settled units in the Dupont Circle office. Bought a home in 2014.

James is amazing. I was a first time homebuyer with a long list of requirements and a pretty low budget. Buying your first home is a big deal - and a huge investment so you want to make sure that you are working with someone who 1) knows what their doing and 2) makes you a priority.

James has so much experience in this industry, and was always making really well thought out suggestions about how to best position myself as a buyer. DC is a competitive market. Lots of cash buyers, low on inventory, pretty expensive. You need someone who has knowledge of the markets your looking in and creative ideas for how to stand out in a pool of like-buyers.

He helped me find something in logan circle, exactly where i wanted to live, for an extremely reasonable price. Not saying everyone will find such a deal, but I am telling the truth when I say that I don't think the seller would have accepted my offer if it were not for James. There were other offers coming in when the seller was considering my offer. James made a call and somehow I got the property I really really wanted for $5K below list - and the other offers had not even come in yet! Unreal.

He was persistent leading up to close - and checked in with me regularly after I had a ratified contract. He worked around my schedule and not the other way around. He has contacts to leverage (inspections, titles, lenders, etc.) - and keeps you on track with your financing time tables.

It doesn't take long to know if an agent is committed to you or not - give James a call - I'm telling you he will make you feel like you are his only client (and I know that sounds cheesy, but it's true!).

So happy with my new purchase - and was delighted to have James at the closing table!

Bought a Single Family home in 2014 for approximately $400K in Michigan Park, Washington, DC.

I was getting no where fast in the competitive DC market until I started working with James. He is proactive knowledgeable agent you want on your side. In addition to his knowledge of the marketplace, he is a life saver in a pinch and will go the extra distance for you.

When an offer was due in less than 24 hours, James spent his Saturday evening working with me to get my offer into the sellers agent. And, when my finance person flaked hours before the offer due date, James quickly tapped into his network and connected me with a new finance person that could complete the offer package just in time.

Because of James, I now have a home. I highly recommend working with him.

Bought a Single Family home in 2012 for approximately $600K in Edgewood, Washington, DC.

James guided us through the sometimes frustrating, often confusing process of buying our first house. What I appreciated most about James's style is that he listened to what we thought we were looking for, provided suggestions when appropriate, and gave us the tools to make good decisions. We both tend to be data people, so James hooked us up with automated internet searches and other information sources on houses that met our criteria and in which we were interested. He gave us the tools and space we needed, but he was always there when we had questions or needed guidance. He helped us narrow down our list, weighing pros and cons to settle on a prioritized list of houses.

When we found a house we ready to go for, James helped us through the process of making an offer and negotiating with the seller. He was a rock that we could depend on, answering questions and reassuring us when we had the inevitable first-time buyer nerves. When there were bumps in the road, he was there conferring with us but also working on our behalf. There were many issues he settled that we never even had the opportunity to stress about them. Once it was all said and done, we sailed into closing completely calm and at ease. I knew I would be anxious, but James did such a great job that buying our first home was actually an enjoyable experience. I have and would continue to recommend him highly.
