Thanks for viewing my profile on Zillow. I have been a full time Realtor since 1988. I was one of the top Realtors in the state of Ohio for a large national real estate organization during the 1990's. My wife, Mary, and I started Penney Real Estate Company in February of 2001.
Unlike most of the large real estate companies who gain market share by employing lots of average Realtors, who sell 5-10 homes a year each, we have gained market share by providing our clients with a much higher level of service who, in turn, refer us to their friends and family members.
I am more effective because I work harder and invest in my business! The average days on market for my listings and my list price versus sale price ratio are better than most agents because I have more experience and I am dedicated to success.
Everyone talks about service these days. But here is the difference: I have over 26 years of experience selling lots and lots of houses! I understand our local market, the buying and selling process, and know how much homes are worth. I also understand how important communication is.
I make keeping my clients informed from start to finish a huge priority. An informed client is a happy client. A happy client will refer us to their friends. It's quite simple. Few things are more annoying to me than having to hunt someone down. My clients never have to hunt me down!
Also, unlike most Realtors who handle all aspects of the real estate transaction by themselves and spread themselves thin, I have a fantastic support team.
BUT... our team works differently than most:
Many really productive Realtors have several buyer agents and listing managers who they assign their clients to. Those team members are the ones who work with the buyers and sellers, and the transactions are listed under the team leader's name . So often times the buyers and sellers don't actually work with the team leader at all!
I work with ALL of my buyer and seller clients, period.
My showing agent shows my buyer clients homes, but once a home is identified the buyer works with me directly, and I handle the negotiations and the purchase process.
Our client service manager helps with our seller clients during the marketing process, but the seller works with me during the negotiation and selling process.
This way, our buyer and seller clients benefit from working with our group, but I am always the one who oversees the important parts of the buying or selling process, and I work directly with every one of our clients.

On a personal note... we have two kids, live in Silver Lake, and I am a long distance runner. I've run many road marathons, and several trail ultra marathons.
