OMG. That seems so unfair. I know ignorance of the law is no defense, but sometimes I wish the IRS took intent into the equation. Hard to prove I know, but the tax code is mind numbing.
Yeah the records are public, but in my town you've gotta wait in line at the recorders office just to check out the microfische. ZIllow is much easier and faster than that.

I'd rather use www.nexttag.com for values instead of deal with a realtor calling me at home wanting to make an appointment.You are right about one thing, Zillow has way more information for free than nextag though. It is free too so I'll take info from both.
Not so funny really. More of a Fort Lauderdale sales pitch to buy now. FL is still in the dumps so buying now for anybody who will sell in less than 10 years may be a huge mistake.
Owner financing id the only way to go especially if your mother's a contractor. Find a wreck of a house and make the owner an offer is they will carry the contract for 5 years at 6% until your credit is better in exchange for your your 5-10K down. A bank won't touch you so trying to find an owner to carry is the way to go.
