I own several rental properties in Southern California. Ive been through countless other management companies and none have impressed me the way renttoday has. Their customer service is always courteous and on top of everything. Thanks to Kayla who made getting the process started easy and stressfree. They took care of everything. They even placed a renter in my vacant property in 9 days. I will definitely recommend renttoday to any property owner who wants a reliable, organized, and efficient company to take care of your home.
They are terrible. They ignore repairs and service calls. The staff was extremely unprofessional. The property advertised a dishwasher and microwave. They were both not working when I moved in. I told the company about the items not working and they stated that the items were personal property and they wouldn't be repaired. There was also a locked storage room on the patio. I asked for the key and they told me that if I wanted access to it, I would have to pay for it to be re-keyed. I also never received a parking permit to park on the property or an assigned parking space.
I have utilized Renttoday to manage my property for 3 years and have always had prompt and responsive service. I had a very uncooperative renter at one point who refused to pay and was not communicative and the company was able to evict the tenant very quickly and find me someone new just a few days after the home was ready. I appreciate their handwork and they make owning a rental easy!
They didn't take the time to show the property; they left a key in a lockbox for the showing and move-in. They do no maintenance; they only collect rent. If they do provide maintenance, it is minimal and you will have to make several phone calls, send emails and/or contact them via traceable mail. I am living in a rental managed by them and I fell in the driveway due to broken pavers, for which, the homeowners association has cited them several times. They promised to repair the pavers but, have since ignored all phone calls, emails and letters regarding the repair. Termite damage to the property was reported, their solution was to replace a very small section of the door frame with a square of wood. They will do anything to collect a late fee including pretending they didn't receive your rent which is why they suggest mailing all rent (certified funds only) via "trackable" mail. Postmarks are not acceptable so, you need to pay extra to be sure you can prove they received the payment by the due date. Zero customer service. I was told to open my bathroom window and run the ventilation fan while showering to prevent mildew that was throughout the bathroom; the fan looks like it is the "original" fan and sounds like a lawnmower but, according to "Maxi," that is not the problem, the problem is me not running the fan AND opening the window for my 5:00 a.m. showers.
