Listed, but didn't sell my Single Family home in 2014 in Watsonville, CA.
Real estate nightmare. Mello brought us a buyer who ultimately fell out, 80 days into a 60 day escrow. When things started looking bad, rather than calling up a back up offer, she kept giving us empty reassurances. At the end, when we wanted to know what was going on, she told us to talk to the buyer's lender, rather than addressing us directly. We even had to insist she advertise the open house in the Sentinel. The first time we had her as an agent, she didn't post in the Sentinel, and hardly anyone showed up for the open house.
We feel she failed to do all she could to service her clients. I would never recommend Renee Mello.

Getting a review like this is absolutely devastating. This was the third transaction I had with these clients and they had to have thought I did a good job before or they wouldn't have come back. This was an unfortunate situation that happens in Real Estate sometimes where the buyer wasn't able to get the loan. I suggested we stick with the buyer because I was assured by the lender that they would be able to close the sale. I tried to keep the clients up to date as to what was happening. When they didn't seem to believe what I was saying, I thought it best to have the lender keep them up to date. As to advertising the home, any home listed by me is advertised in over 300 websites and a virtual tour is done at my expense. Again, the fact that these clients feel I fell short in servicing them is the worst that someone can say about me. I am sorry that it ended in such bad feelings.

Renee handled the sale of my mother-in-law's house, which was a financially and emotionally fraught experience for both of us. She completely understood the state of the market, how to price the house, and how to arrange the bidding process. When the bids came in, she was knowledgeable and helpful about the discrepancies between them, allowing us to figure out which offer was best for our needs. Thanks to her, we were able to sell the house at above asking price, achieve our financial goal in the sale, and go from listing to closing in just over two months. I would recommend her without qualification.

Renee has long been an expert of real estate in the Watsonville area (including the 3 senior villages) & has sent out market reports of real estate happenings (listings, pendings, & sales) for years. She was right on target as to what the listing price should be & what the probable sales price would be.
My Bay Village (55+adult community) home backed up to the levee along Salsipuedes Creek & so presented challenges with FEMA & flood insurance prices. Renee had us get the elevation measured upfront so as to diffuse that issue. She marketed the house with a lively video, several open houses, & a positive MLS description of its updated condition & lovely yard.
Although I live in Colorado (a grandma move), Renee was easy to communicate with via phone or e-mail She always returned my calls within a day & worked with my brother who lives locally. She kept me informed throughout contract negotiations, escrow & closing. I would gladly recommend Renee as a Realtor.
Renee's involvement with the sale of my home was invaluable. The house was masterfully presented resulting in multiple offers following the first open house. Simply said, she was fantastic (no she didn't pay me to say that)!
