California Standards Test (CST)

In 2011-2012 California used the California Standards Tests (CSTs) to test students in English language arts in grades 2 through 11; math in grades 2 through 7; science in grades 5, 8 and 10; and history-social science in grades 8 and 11. Middle and high school students also took subject-specific CSTs in math and science, depending on the course in which they were enrolled. The CSTs are standards-based tests, which means they measure how well students are mastering specific skills defined for each grade by the state of California. The goal is for all students to score at or above proficient on the tests.

This is my daughters 3rd year attending EIS and I am very pleased with the teachers and the office staff. My daughter has been challenged academically and I like that the teachers make themselves available for myself and my daughter for any concerns we may have. Thank you!

My husband & I bought our home due to the excellent rating in etiwanda school district. We have 5 kids high schoolers through elementary. EIS has had its ups & downs just like any other school. I'm involved in volunteering & i have not yet to see any drugs issues in the 4 years my kids have been attending. As for the dress codes the staff stands by their rules. I have been able to meet with all the staff & teachers when i needed to. Besides the new rule of not being able to have lunch with your child except for in the office everything else is GREAT! (The lunch rule is to protect our children from those couple parents who can't grow up. Therefor i agree with the new rules if this means my children safety is even better.)

teachers are very rude to the students the food is terrible!!! the dress code is rediculous

This school has a HUGE alcohol/drug use. What's crazy is you see it in their smartest students! Teachers are of poor quality often speaking of their life than grammar. Students are fake and bully often. The food is all frozen. They have a strict dress code on items even private schools allow you to wear and they take there punishment more seriously then their academics. If your child can't handle the above I wouldn't recommend it.

Great School. My daughter completed 6-8 grades and will be promoted next week. Very happy with the teachers and support staff. Strong academic program and after school programs. Excellent band! Love EIS!

Last year my daughter had a wonderful experience in the 6th grade. Teachers were regularly in contact with parents and very involved. Enriching after school programs and electives were offered too. My daughter took a Japanese class and thoroughly enjoyed it! Her 7th grade year is off to a great start as well.

Great programs for helping establish good study habits. Great band art classes awesome sport teams great things to keep kids out of trouble. Involves parents to every thing.

EIS is a good school and has been an 'OK' start to middle school for my child. I think as long as you're involved and on top of which teachers you get they offer a good education. Some of the sixth grade team of teachers really go above and beyond to offer after school classes and events. They're hard care about P.E. and have a popular band program. You definitely need to 'push' for any changes with the principal.

School has a great music program which allows kids to travel.

My daughter began attending EIS this past January. We have had nothing but good experiences.

My older child went through this school no problem but my younger child is now experiencing repeated bullying with regard to his race. The third incident was last week when was assaulted and had to be taken to emergency. There seems to be a lack of direct supervision although they allow tackle football to be played on the lunch hour regularly. The education is good but the school is doing nothing to curb the growing racial hatred some children seem to be developing toward others.

We just moved in this community last month and my children were able to adjust right away. They said that the other children are friendly and teachers are really nice. They love the schools. It seems like they have been in this school forever. Thanks to the school Principal and the teachers.

This school is poorly run. The Principal supports her faculty because it's the 'right' thing to do but what about being honest and fair? Students are not properly disciplined. The faculty is overly focused on material possessions rather than teaching. There are a number of hidden issues within the district. Now that educators have partnered with law enforcement as a disciplinary measure I question their ability to teach children. It seems like a conspiracy to imprison children at an early age to fill the newest prison facility in Etiwanda. Educators will understand the impact of this new found partnership once their own children end up in that system. Whatever happened to teaching? Why can't they understand that some parents are still willing to work with them for the sake of our children?

After being at EIS for 1 year our son was placed in honor classes for the first time ever. I think the teaching at EIS made all the difference!

Our child transfered from another school and was accepted by her peers and staff very well. She made the honor roll and made new friends quickly.
