Idaho Standards Achievement Test (ISAT)

Until 2012-2013, Idaho used the Idaho Standards Achievement Test (ISAT) to test students in grades 3 through 10 in reading, math, and language usage, and in grades 5, 7, and 10 in science. In 2013-2014, Idaho field-tested a new ISAT, and only reported testing for grades 5, 7, and 10 science, and grade 10 reading, language use, and mathematics. Data was also heavily suppressed to protect individual students from being identified. Students may also take the ISAT in grades 11 or 12 if they were not able to do so in grade 10. The scores from the spring administration are displayed on GreatSchools profiles. The grade 10 ISAT is a high school graduation requirement. The ISAT is a standards-based test, which means it measures how well students are mastering the specific skills defined for each grade by the state of Idaho. The goal is for all students to score at or above the proficient level.

Community ratings & reviews

Rexburg has a very competitive religious community (The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints). Talented individuals can be overshadowed by even more talented individuals - our Jr. Miss competitions testify to that. Cliques are abundant. Some are students seeking to excel and help others others are looking to rebel to make an identity for themselves. I'll never forget how hard I laughed when the senior goth clique graduated and a group of sophomores with newly goth themed painted faces took over their table. All in all an excellent school. Students are challenged to succeed and the staff has a genuine interest in the success of their students.
