I am a parent looking for a great school for my daughter and I want to see 2011 and 2012 ratings from students and parents as well as teachers. Where are the recent reviews? I want to hear what the students parents and teachers honestly feel about the school!

As a student of Maggie Walker I would encourage no one to come here. A lot has changed we are no longer a school for governmental studies but are fast becoming a regular school. Every year the administration accepts more and more kids just to get funding. Adminstrative politics also play a large role. We have our few priviledges threatened by the administration constantly and are tired of it. I would urge students to not come to Governors.

This is a high school. It has grades 9-12 but this site shows it as an elementary school. Great school. Students can go anywhere after this if they work. Graduates regulary attend Harvard Yale etc. No administration politics no noncaring teachers. Great place.

Here the students want to learn and the teachers want to teach. Because of this there is little or no violence or discipline issues. These students have been given the opportunity to learn and spend time with others that want to learn. Its creation has been a gift to our communities by providing an education to our future leaders.

Maggie Walker Governor's School is the best example of diversity in a student body that I am aware of. There is diversity in race ethnicity gender socio-economic status and intellectual interests. It is the only high school that I know of where each student is accepted by other students based on his or her own character. I have one child who is there now and one who just graduated.
