California Standards Test (CST)

In 2011-2012 California used the California Standards Tests (CSTs) to test students in English language arts in grades 2 through 11; math in grades 2 through 7; science in grades 5, 8 and 10; and history-social science in grades 8 and 11. Middle and high school students also took subject-specific CSTs in math and science, depending on the course in which they were enrolled. The CSTs are standards-based tests, which means they measure how well students are mastering specific skills defined for each grade by the state of California. The goal is for all students to score at or above proficient on the tests.

Terrace is a hard-working elementary school that works to show character counts and believing is succeeding. The atmosphere inside the classrooms is warm and welcoming and all of the staff is friendly and professional especially the front office. Terrace parents should come together to use some of the programs the school has in place. While there are a good number of highly involved parents more commUNITY action is a positive trait to nurture in our students. Terrace works hard to ensure all students have access to a fair quality education. There are a plethora of parent involvement and intervention programs but the parent and student must make the commitment to use the programs to benefit. Parents be active and involved and your child will get a quality education at Terrace and as a parent you will have the chance to learn some great things along the way.

terrace is a great school with a dedicated staff. Prents need to realize that teachers teaching is only half the battle in students learning

This is a good school but unfortunately we do need more parent involvement and more programs for the kids. I'm hispanic and I do agree that they cater to the spanish only speaking kids. We need more challenging programs for ALL the kids. Most teachers are great. My daughter attended but now she will be going to H.S. and my son is currently in the 2nd grade going to 3rd. To the teachers - Thank you for all you do!

it is a graet school it needs more parents to involve in school so we can help teachers with our children education

This school caters too much to the spanish speakers. So much so that the english only speakers get neglected.
