California Standards Test (CST)

In 2011-2012 California used the California Standards Tests (CSTs) to test students in English language arts in grades 2 through 11; math in grades 2 through 7; science in grades 5, 8 and 10; and history-social science in grades 8 and 11. Middle and high school students also took subject-specific CSTs in math and science, depending on the course in which they were enrolled. The CSTs are standards-based tests, which means they measure how well students are mastering specific skills defined for each grade by the state of California. The goal is for all students to score at or above proficient on the tests.

I am an 8th grader at Mira loma do believe all the reviews you see I love the school I love the teachers. There is no bullying no drugs so you don't have to worry about you son or daughter getting any bad habits. This school is the most safest cleanest and nicest. We have a deputy on campus at all times not because we have bad students but just to make sure no one is doing anything their not so posed to do I can say the pizza they serve for lunch every day is a little Greece but its so go I I've this school and I hope I can send my kids there in the future. I hope you enjoy this school and don't forget to roar

This school has many issues but there is a huge ethnic discrimination issue. My daughter is white blonde hair with blue eyes. She not only stands out but is called "The White Girl" by students and teachers. There are rules at this school that only apply to particular students. The education is lacking as teachers are to involved with other tasks and personal situations to even call back a concerned parent. I would not send my child here if I were you. My daughter will not be going back for 2013-2014 school year.

This school overall is a really great school no more gang related situations like in the past all of that is already settled we have a lot of rules but some of the kids that think that it's strict it just because some of them want more freedom to hug and have a girlfriend and most of the kids don't like their teacher because they think they're strict it's not that it's them they talk in class alot and so they think their strict because they get them in trouble I have some of the most great teachers they really like to cooperate with the students and help them as much as they can so they can succeed this school is great bring your kids to this you won't be disappointed in fact to tell the truth theirs actually a police officer in the place usually at lunch to make things sure everything is fine some kids fine this as strict but their not in anybody's business just looking around and when someone tells them that they've seen a kid with drugs they get checked but that rarely happens so please I recommend this school to everyone!! and I'm a 8th but I would definitely like if the school would permit hugs at least ahaha that would be nice

I have been going to this school for the second year now and it is the best time you could ever have at any school. They are a little strict but once you get to know them it will be just fine so enroll your kids there it will be a great experience for them

I have a son that goes to this school and I think that the rules are way too strict. My son tells me as well as a few of his friends that it feels like they are in prison and some of the teachers are mean to them. I also think that some of the teachers are not interested in student communication. The district needs to make some adjustments to the rules.

I have two children that attended this school in the last few years it has gone from bad to worse. I have had support from the counselors principal and vice principals but the some teachers seem to not be interested in parent teacher communication. Prior to my children attending i heard from other parents there were gang issues and now that my children attended there the gang issues are huge and the discipline for the behavior needs to be much harsher. I just hope patriot high is better dealing these issues.

I went to this school for one year. It was the best year of my life. I met many great people including teachers staff and students. I learned a lot that year even things that were for next year. That next year was a breeze.

They have a wonderful band teacher. I wish there were some extracurricular activities. The staff and counselors are very supportive. When we had to make some tough choices regarding my son's academic performance the staff was great in coming up with a plan to help. They did and he passed and all was well. I love there zero tolerance for violence. They are right on top of things when it comes to this issue. This is truly (from my experience)a great staff of people.

This district needs a lot of adjustments. It is hard to work with and really doesn't give much consideration to the students or parents. The schools don't focus the way that they need to on the education and quality that they should.

I love this school it has great teachers and the kids are all great. The office staff is the greatest and are always so friendly to all that come in! The exploritory courses are a great way for students to learn and enjoy computers music and many other great activities. The campus is very clean and safe and I promise that your child if enrolled here will enjoy his/her time! Sincerly Student of MLMS

Good Teachers and staff. Principal is Nice but is sometimes more worried about teachers than students.

I think this school is good. I feel they are too strict in some instinses. I fell it discourages the kids to want to first of all be there and second it makes it harder for them to try to do there best. The teachers need to stop picking on the students for every little things and just teach and build relationships with the students. I feel there are too many rules that are just nonsense when it comes to education. I am all for Education but when you start nit picking it is discouraging.
