My name is Jessica Calkins and I attend Thomas Jefferson High School this school is not good at all. The classes are out of control and the students over rule the teachers and sometimes the teachers over use their power as a teacher. I feel this is a problem as a student of Thomas Jefferson High School. I would like to see this school change and grow to be a safe and appropriete school for any student of any grade or age.

Our faculty staff & support team is always helping students parents and the community making them feel so welcome to be able to share their thoughts or concerns always reasuring them the support is always there. We have a wonderful family oriented atmosphere here at Jefferson. Always working on strategies for our students to be able to reach their academic goals and social skills which will help them in their long term future plans .There is alot of involvement with community services which is always accessible to families. We work in a positive and productive enviroment which I am proud to be a part of.

I have been a student at this school since 7th grade and I am currently a senior. All the talk about violence and ridicule at this school are just rumors and lies. I have tried several different schools and I have to say I have felt the safest at Jefferson. Also most of the teachers care about their students grades it all depends if the student is disruptive and rude. Basically if the the student does not care about his/her grades the teachers wont either. Besides the are teachers not babysitters.

From what I have seen in the past two years that my son has been enrolled the teachers have no control over their classrooms. I have heard from teachers on numerous occasions that they were unable to teach the lesson plan due to class behavior. Also they are quick to call for a child talking in their class but not when their grades are declining it seems their priorities are mixed up.
