The school has a great campus (a new building was added and parts of the school were renovated recently) but some of the teachers are obviously not qualified for the job. Some of the staff members also seem lazy unfriendly and caring more about their paycheck than what they are supposed to be doing for the students.

I'm Student from RHS (Rosemead High School) I don't know in El Monte Union High School give this school having a lacking of waste the time student in this school they also said board nothing to do. The only the teacher waiting for their paycheck and the teacher taking a day off does not show up on school that very mean not a very good teacher plus maybe the District can fire the teacher if the student file report them. One more thing I don't give a better good rating they have a very poor wi-fi around the school and they blocked the other web site and that is really not good to the student & staff this school got be to fun teach and helping the student for homework or the classwork not just other sitting around they said it too boarding I can't taking anymore if they want this school best .Well telling the District maybe the best possible way if they keeping the school like this again. Then I'm going to another this school don't give this lacking of waste time standing what i'm going to do.

I am currently employed with EMUHSD and my personal opinion is this Does a good job at covering up their flaws. The district operates on a 'I scratch your back you scratch mine ' policy. Students success and achievements are often limited by mediocre administrators who can never give you a straight answer. The minimum requirement to become an administrator is to have been a coach not a good teacher. Academics take a back seat to sports Always. Out dated practices and philosophies are heavily noticeable. If you are a teacher who stays in their classroom does not ask questions agrees with everything wants very little administrative support are not worried about giving your students the very best education then this is the district for you. Bottom line is as soon as the job market opens up people will run from this district. Don't take my word for it get hired there.

I am sad to read all of the student comments. I had a son graduated in 2004 and I loved the school! He went on to a 4 year University. We transferred from a private middle school and I was quite afraid to be honest however it was the best thing ever. My experience with the principal was outstanding. In fact I felt that it offered more programs than private school if you ask and get involved. The Administration was very pleasant and helpful. My son participated in student council all four years and was accepted to various Uniersities. My recommendation for the students who are having a bad experience is 'get involved show the teachers you do care and if possible have your parents be involved too!' Rosemead is a great school in my opinion.

I'm a student transferred in 2008. I was originally supposed to go to South El Monte but because of SEM was a PI school I transferred out. Now Rosemead is a PI school also and SEM is offering some higher classes than Rosemead is. SEM also got Agendas while Rosemead didn't because of the 'budget cuts'. Few teachers accually care. Very few can even teach. We always have to learn on our own.

The school lacks leadership the principal is weak and when things get tough he looks for the easiest way out he doesnt bother to get facts. There's not enough after school programs and the teachers dont give a damn. Also something needs to be done about all the fights!

As a student the school is bad. The enviroment the teachers everything. The teachers say they care but really they're just there waiting for their paychecks. Standards are low and basically anyone can graduate. This is a below average school. They are fights and students talking back to the teachers and the teachers don't do anything. Many students just go here because of their friends.

The teachers are helpful and I really enjoy myself to study here.

Quality of Academic Programs mediocre. Teachers can be very helpful once you get to know them. But if you don't try to stand out you will be passed over. Extracurricular activities lacking not enough good leadership to keep good programs going. Parent Involvement low - but PTA is unresponsive cliquish & does not make its presence known Discipline Poor.

The school's principal lacks involvment. Teachers are willing and outgoing which allows the students to be more involved. The school has basic extracurricular activities such as sports clubs like drama and such. Although there are plenty of clubs a bit more wouldnt hurt. The weakness is the parent's involvement as well as discipline. Overall this school is quite decent.

This school is a below average school I think. It lacks in many things such as in sports like their basketball team which is one of the worst in the valley their cheer team which is not organized the teachers do not get along with the students and they argue a lot the school is dead and it has no spirits and practically all their activities are not planned out. Their are also many fight too and many kids do drugs. Not at all a school I would recommend. Counselors and kids do not really get along. The only thing that is good is their wrestling team.

Alot of new construction is going-on right now. I'm a current student at Rosemead High. Almost all the teachers are great. It's a nice school environment and has a local park and swimming pool right next to the school grounds. School lunch has dramatically improved this year (2005-2006) and management is quite efficient.

RHS isn't the best school in the area. The size and education lacks in somewhat other schools might have. The campus is small and dirty. Most kids just like to go there because of their friends.

I think Rosemead High School has very good teachers. The quality of it's staff is excellent the teacher's care about it's students and the campus for the most part is usually clean except when undergoing construction. School has frequent offerings for parent involvement and has many clubs and extra currc. activities.

Very good football program. One of the worst basketball programs in the valley.

Rosemead High School seems to be poorly administered by people who care little for the students and whose goals tend to be empire-building. As a parent I found the administrative staff unresponsive and the upper levels of administration to be arrogant and uncaring as if the students exist for trhe benefit of their careers. The students seem to be dead last on anyone's list of priorities and many of the staff and teachers operate in a climate of fear and intimidation by the ruling politburo. Since I have experienced this personally it is not hearsay. Too bad for the kids and no one at the school or at the school board seems to care a hoot about it.
