California Standards Test (CST)

In 2012-2013 California used the California Standards Tests (CSTs) to test students in English language arts in grades 2 through 11; math in grades 2 through 7; science in grades 5, 8 and 10; and history-social science in grades 8 and 11. Middle and high school students also took subject-specific CSTs in math and science, depending on the course in which they were enrolled. The CSTs are standards-based tests, which means they measure how well students are mastering specific skills defined for each grade by the state of California. The goal is for all students to score at or above proficient on the tests.

We love Lagunita! My kids are on summer vacation and the younger one asked if she could please go to summer school because she missed Lagunita. The parents here are incredibly involved and as a newcomer everyone has been extremely friendly and welcoming. The school communicates with us at least 3 or 4 times a week with emails and/or automated calls and the teachers we've had have shown they care by taking the time for individual feedback. The small class sizes are great too even if the classes have two grades combined - they are still smaller and better than the other schools in the area!

Just like living in a small community and the problems that go with that. Not very inviting to new people or anyone who requires a little bit more. Small class sizes? How can that be when there are more than one grade level in each class?? Which further takes away from the kids. Not all they crack it up to be. Beware.

Fantastic school! Small rural setting old fashioned values and high scores. What more could you want?

This is a fantastic school! The surroundings and education make for a great environment for children to learn. The class sizes are small and the scores are generally high. Teachers are very helpful. The Admin staff are very involved in everything from teaching to school events and activities.
