See http://www.engageny.org/sites/default/files/resource/attachments/test_score_release_letter_to_parents.pdf from New York's Commissioner of Education for more information on these changes. In 2013-2014 New York used the New York State Assessments to test students in grades 3 through 8 in English language arts and math, and in grades 4 and 8 in Science. At present 2013-14 results are available only for English language arts and math. The tests are standards-based, which means they measure how well students are mastering specific skills defined for each grade by the state of New York. The goal is for 90% of students to mee

This school is horrible for sixth graders the children and staff are very unwelcoming

The school is small half the size of Woodland the other middle school in the district which is an advantage. The kids and teachers all know each other. Most of the teachers are excellent enthusiastic and caring. The administration I feel was more hands-on in the past (the former principal always came to Rec Night etc) but nonetheless a very good school.

Clarke Middle School has a top notch learning environment. The administration teachers and staff are on the ball they really seem to care about the students and their progress. Discipline is fair and quickly meted out increasing safety and morale. School facilities are clean and modern (but the food is not the best according to the students). All in all a great choice.
