I would never make my kids return to this school under and circumstance. My child was traumatized by something that happened in class and rather then being helped by the staff My 6 year old child was interrogated like a criminal. They held him without my knowledge and caused him even more mental anguish then the situation that had already occurred. The new principal proved his skills with children are not good at all. And they treated my son like the aggressor because of the statement of another child. Since then DCFS has done a full investigation with all involved and ruled that the staff was wrong that my child was the victim. And we have yet to even receive an apology for the pain they have caused my child and my family! No child is perfect but to treat a child who has been wronged inside his school like a criminal is unjust and that's exactly what Wetmore elementary did to my child. If I could rate this school less then one star I would!

Overall the teachers are wonderful. My child's 2nd grade teacher was not good and ended up being moved to 1st grade the next year. She is mean and should not be teaching elementary students. The PTA is weak and disorganized horrible at recruiting. Both the Principles were wonderful (one retired).

The best Elementary School on the entire north side. Should have a 10 for rating and 5 stars.

My son has been a student at Wetmore for 4 years. We have loved every teacher he has had and that teacher has brought something new & exciting out in my son. The administration is beyond professional and caring. They are amazing. I would reccommend Wetmore to any parent.

Rated exemplary by TEA Wetmore is fantastic! I need a different home but I have not moved because I do not want to take my children out of this school. Mr. Morgan is a loving involved principal who inspires the children. Mine even say he's 'cool'. The teachers are caring upbeat people. They are all well organized and curriculum is consistent. There is a solid PTA and a wonderful group of volunteer parents supporting the teaching staff. The teachers get along well too. It feels like a family network when you are at the school. The teachers and admin staff are all very professional in conduct and even in appearance. I agree that there should be more shade in the playground area. I think that is the only negative I can find.

My son loves Wetmore and all of his teachers. The school is very well organized with friendly teachers and staff. Mr. Morgan the principal is fantastic. He always made my son feel welcome as he passed him in the hallways. I feel that kind of atmosphere is very important. It allowed my son to excel not only in academics but self-confindence too!

Our children love Wetmore and we could not be happier with the teachers and staff. Mr. Morgan is a wonderful principal who truly cares for his flock. My son has really blossomed and is ready for middle school next year.

Our son attended Wetmore for 3rd-5th grades. He had wonderful teachers who all worked with his strengths and allowed him to thrive. He has a mild learning disability. The teachers worked well with him and communication was good. overall school climate is great.

Nice interior. Teaches seem to care. They stress academics so that is always a good thing. The school needs more shade on the playground for those hot Texas days. Principal seems to show interest in the kids.

WONDERFUL is the best description for Wetmore! Mr. Morgan the Principle is amazing! Lacking in Art classes but superb in every other aspect!
