California Standards Test (CST)

In 2012-2013 California used the California Standards Tests (CSTs) to test students in English language arts in grades 2 through 11; math in grades 2 through 7; science in grades 5, 8 and 10; and history-social science in grades 8 and 11. Middle and high school students also took subject-specific CSTs in math and science, depending on the course in which they were enrolled. The CSTs are standards-based tests, which means they measure how well students are mastering specific skills defined for each grade by the state of California. The goal is for all students to score at or above proficient on the tests.

My daughter attended Kinder here. She went in barely knowing her alphabet & came out reading full books!! Its an amazing school & the staff treats everyone like family. its defiantly a learning environment that kids need to feel comfortable & makes learning easy.

Fletcher has a great family feel. Because the playground is also a neighborhood park you often run into school friends playing or riding bikes. The teachers are great with kids and communicate with parents often. They have an active PTA and a newly formed Dad's Club. They do fun family events like Carnival Movie Night Star Gazing Turn off TV Week etc... And this past year there were after school programs (for a fee) Spanish Club Yoga Science Club etc. And they have authors come to campus.. This year the illustrator who created FANCY NANCY came!! they are trying to make it k8.

There is not enough room to say all the wonderful things I have to say about Fletcher Elementary. I re-wrote this review three times and it was still too long. So here's the short story. Fletcher has outstanding teachers an outstanding principal outstanding activities and outstanding parent involvement. I believe Fletcher is THE BEST SCHOOL IN THE SAN DIEGO UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT! Their scores tell the story. The low performing school that Fletcher feeds into should be forced to close its doors forever!

Their teachers and the way they are with all the kids you feel like in a 'family' in that school

Fletcher has very good teachers and an outstanding principle. The test scores of the children are outstanding. The only drawback is the middle school that Fletcher feeds into.

Fletcher is a great school. The teachers are wonderful and very personable. We were introduced to the school through the Salvation Army Children's Learning Center. It has since closed its school age program. One of my son's has graduated and is now in middle school. He is currently in advanced classes and is doing well. I drive my younger son to Fletcher everyday from Mira Mesa because I love the school so much and I don't want to pull him out. ( We previously used the Children's Learning Center ). He is also doing well especially in mathematics.

Fletcher is a great school. I move my 2 girls in 2007 to Fletcher Elementary because my girls and I was not happy with the school they were attending To 'Angier elementary' in 2006. They had a big discipline problem so I did some research and did the change and now I can tell you that it was the best decision I had made my 2 girls are so happy with the school program the staff and their class mates. I give it a 10. They are trying to make it a K 8 by 2008. (Love it)

Great Elementary School. The leadership of the school is weak. The extra extracurricular activities are non exhisting. Other than that the school has very good academics.

My children have been going to this school for many years and I really love it. The teachers are wonderful friendly and easy to talk to about your child. The school is nestled in an area that doesn't produce much outside traffic. It is kind of in its own little isolated world. I have always been impressed with the things the children learn in the classroom. The school is low on enrollment right now so some of the activities are limited. The parent involvent in the classroom is good. The PTA is trying to get more connected to the parents. The school has tremendous potential for growth.
