I am a current student at Santa Rosa High School and this is my first year and I could not be happier. I am happy to go to school because of this school. For the first time in my life I'm not dreading Mondays or counting down the days to summer starting in august. To be honest I can't say a bad thing about this school. Students are created equal from the staff and more importantly the other students. I have never witnessed an act of bullying and have not heard of any. There's no "popular kids" or "geeks." Everyone gets along. I think part of this reason is that the school is so diverse and has the ArtQuest program. Kids are literally taught to be themselves. Aside from artquest we have the FFA program. I am not apart of either. A lot of people are scared to come here because "they aren't artsy." I am the least creative person you will ever meet and I fit in fine. This schools spirit and leadership amazes me. In my opinion sending your kid to any other school like Carrillo or Newman is an awful decision.

My son has been a student at SRHS since his freshman year. In the past 3 and ahalf years he has had some of the best experiences in his young life. I transitioned him from private schools and was worried about how well he would do in public school. With excellent teachers and sports programs he has truly excelled. In his senior year he joined choir and had a chance to experience a small part of the Art Quest program which is really impressive. From the teachers staff and coaches to the curriculum SRHS truly offers an experience to kids.

Although people may think SRHS is nothing without Artquest we have an outstanding amount of teachers who strive to bring many different types of knowledge to their students. Our teachers take pride in the school's rich history and maintain a museum in the main building that archives all of the amazing students that have graduated. The foundation raises thousands so students can have everything they need for a great education and the programs involve a lot of support from parents the community and teachers. SRHS has a record low amount of violence and a lot of diversity among students. The reason so many students come from outside of the district is they want to feel a part of a group and not an outsider. We are bonded together by the pride we have for our school and anyone who is lucky enough to squeeze in on the transfer list will soon find out why.

The ArtQuest program at Santa Rosa High School gives students a chance to participate in a visual and performing arts program of exceptional quality. I have been tremendously impressed with the student work I've seen whether it is in visual arts dance chorus drama or orchestra. It is inspiring to see what teens are capable of when the expectations are high and the curriculum is challenging and intellectually and creatively stimulating.

The ArtQuest program at SRHS is unique. It develops a close community of all students in the program plus individually in their specialty areas of dance arts photography drama video arts etc. Simultaneously students can pursue the University Pathway. This ensures they have the opportunity to pursue their love of the arts as well as academic advancement to a university upon graduation.

Santa Rosa High School has the best music program in Sonoma County. Mark Wardlaw the music director and teacher has been an inspiration to hundreds of students many of whom have gone on to become successful musicians but all of whom have had their lives immeasurably enriched by being part of a vibrant musical learning experience. My son plays the alto saxophone and the music program has had a profound influence on his life.

I attended SRHS for all four years of my high school education. I have every intention of sending my son there when he reaches high school age. I think that SRHS offers such a diverse group of students teachers and learning opportunities. There is the Art Quest program which is absolutely wonderful and on the other end of the spectrum it has a wonderful shop program and ag program. The many pathways allow every person to find something they are most interested in which in my opinion helps make for a much more fun involved high school career. I couldn't be happier with the education I received there.

An excellent school in every regard. Diverse and tolerant students excellent AP and Honors courses great selection of clubs and activities. Tremendous parent involvement committed teachers ongoing communication from the principal. The ArtQuest program is superb and there are many options for students who do not intend to attend college. My child has never been happier in a school or more excited to excel. Five stars.

This is the best high school in Santa Rosa! I transferred from another high school and I am very happy that I did! The spirit is amazing the teachers are fantastic and the students are friendly and individual.

There is much more than just Artquest at this school. Many clubs to sign up for and all teachers are pleasant to have as instructors. The school sends out indicators for new activities changes and events going on at the school. Great way to motivate your teen with CSF California Scholarship Federation and the mock S.A.T. for the extra help before the big exam. SRHS has a good history with sports and plays not to crush other's spirits but to have fun while playing a good game.

The teachers in the honors courses are outstanding. The social atmosphere is very accepting of individuals. Basically anyone can find a friend they have something in common with. The school is absolutely beautiful. If you have a son who wants to win in football though I would go somewhere else.

SRHS is an wonderful school. Both of my children have attended one of which is a graduate. The staff is wonderful with the students the communication is top notch. The arts department is outstanding! I feel they get a top rate education and are made to feel they on their way to do important things with their future.

Please notice that the Artquest Program is the reason to go here -- see other reviews. Test scores are disappointing throughout Santa Rosa as is the four year college matriculation rate. Solid principal.

SRHS is one of the last remaining self-sustained schools in California. It offers the most electives of all the schools in the area including an ArtQuest program which attracts aspiring artists as far as San Francisco. A wide variety of sports but overall teams don't do so well against other schools.
