Long Cane Academy (3K-12) and founded in 1974 is fully accredited by the South Carolina Association of Independent Schools. Long Cane enjoys an excellent pupil-teacher ratio of 6 1 and offers high school students a choice of Honors College Prep College Prep and Tech Prep programs of study. Test scores on the annual Stanford 10 Achievement Test are well above the national average. The academy has a dual-enrollment program with Piedmont Technical College. With emphasis on family values in a small South Carolina community the academy also has a non-denominational Christian curriculum fused into the regular school program featuring weekly chapel assemblies. Students enjoy opportunities for athletic participation in a comprehensive interscholastic program -- including football girls volleyball basketball baseball golf and FCA. I debated for a long time about whether to send my children to Long Cane or the public school. I finally decided on Long Cane and it was the best choice I've ever made. The children are so eager to go to school. The atmosphere is so nurturing and the school feels like a big family. My children want to go to school and learn. I was worried about the academics but the small class size means they get individual attention and are able to work to their full potential. I highly recommend this school as a viable option to the public school.
