The new standards for proficiency in these subjects are higher than in previous years and the percent of students earning a proficient score is expected to be lower as a result of this change. See http://www.engageny.org/sites/default/files/resource/attachments/test_score_release_letter_to_parents.pdf from New York's Commissioner of Education for more information on these changes. In 2013-2014 New York used the New York State Assessments to test students in grades 3 through 8 in English language arts and math, and in grades 4 and 8 in Science. At present 2013-14 results are available only for English language arts and math. The tests are standards-based, which means they measure how well students are mastering specific skills defined for each grade by the state of New York. The goal is for 90% of students to mee

Maple hill is an amazing school as a student it has helped me mature and realize my possibilities as a student athlete. I play girls soccer currently and I have made new friends and became very close with the coach who teaches gym and health. I wouldn't want to go anywhere else. We also provide amazing advanced classes starting with pre-algebra and 8th grade course in 7th grade. I am currently taking that class and am extremely glad they provide that course. Maple Hill is just an amazing school with phenomenal teachers and an amazing principal.

This is the best school for my children. There are involved in a lot of school activities. The principle is nice to them and when they have a problem they go to Guidence. My kids love it. Its the place to be.

I am a current student at Maple Hill Middle School (MHMS). It is an amazing school. The teachers are nice and our principal Mrs. Lansing is awesome and very understanding.

This is a small school in which the children receive more attention from the teacher. I would recommend it to any parents who want a good eduaction for their children.

I have two children in this school and can't imagine my children being anywhere else! Parent and teacher communication is wonderful. Student/teacher ratio is superb. The creativity shown by the teachers just cannot be beat.
