Collins Intermediate school is absolutely horrible. If there were another school that I could choose to send my children to instead I certainly would. The principal and vice principal treat students horribly and they treat the parents horribly as well. Not only do you have to worry about your children being bullied by their peers you also have to worry about them being bullied by the administration.

This is my sons 2nd year at Collins Elementary. I haven't felt the warm welcoming feeling as other parents have felt in fact it's been the opposite. Some of the teachers and staff seem to have their own agenda and there seems to be a communication problem between school staff and parents because you get announcements flyers after school events are over. You don't get a lot of support from the Principal with the exception of Vice-Principal Gary Speers who is excellent! This school needs more emphasis on computers cultural activities foreign language and world experiences and less time worrying about who's who. If this school would spend as much time and energy on educating as they do with the afternoon pick-up procedures test scores would be way above average.

My child attended this school in 5th grade this 2005-2006 school year and I would like to say that I am very impressed with the degree of professionalism of the entire staff @ the school. Mr. Spears the assistant principal is such a good influence on the children. He has such a positive attitude. This staff really cares about your child! Although the y go by rules and regulations they let nothing interfere with what is in the best interest of your child. I am so thankful for Ms. Brown also who taught my son this year! Great place to have your child. School is welcoming staff makes you feel comfortable coming to have lunch with your child!

Their needs to be a new program started in this school called .' No bullies in school ' and I believe that this school would improve more in everything specialy the kids education.Because kids that are bullyed all the time can't get the education that they need because some of the kids are scared to go to school but they go anyway. So please see what you can do about this before somthing does happen.
