Seymour Middle School is a great place to learn. Students are safe and always put first.

Unhealthy school food horrible teachers that don't teach as much as they should. Unreliable. The principal continuously is trying to kick out students that live in Blount County. The band director Ms. McKay doesn't teach band. My child had to teach herself her instrument without the help of Hope McKay. It was ridiculous. She gets so much praise but she never congratulates her students never praises them and is constantly yelling at them for the wrong reasons. The food is worse than we expected. My daughter came home twice throwing up because of the food. I tried it myself one day and found the food disgustingly cold. Overall the worst school we've ever been to. The education is even iffy.

I feel so happy with the education of my son. The school is good and the teachers are excellents

I am Seymour alumni. I believe some teachers abuse referrals. Some are justified and some are just plain nit-picky. Teachers need to choose their battles in what really matters in preparing these kids for high school and beyond. Other than that I wouldn't have my child anywhere else. The staff is always very helpful and so are the vice principals and principal.

I am a parent of an 8th grader plus an alumni of Seymour Schools I just have to say Seymour has the best schools my niece goes to Gibbs and she couldn't even read coming out of Kindergarten she is now in the 4th grade and still has trouble. I just want to say that Hope Mckay is the best band director. My daughter and I went to see Halls and Maynardville middles school bands and she could tell me exactly what they did wrong and I watched all the band directors and they are terrible compared to Ms. McKay

I think that the teachers and faculty work hard but I also think some of them don't take there job as seriously as they should. But other than that the acedemics are very good but the choral band and sports program is amazing. The chorus has been to NYC Atlanta and might be going to Miami and Chicago this year. And the band takes kids who have never played a note in there life and gets them to appreciate hard work. I was in this school and this is my *th grade year. This school is amazing and has taught me alot.

I have had 3 of my children go through this school and I am very displeased with the principal and the way she handles herself. The principal picks her favorites and if you happen to be one of them you have great middle school years but if you aren't one of the lucky few it is awful. Alot of the students are unhappy at this school but love the other Seymour Public Schools.

My daughter loves Seymour Middle School. After moving from North Carolina in the middle of the school year we were afraid the change would be difficult but she loves the teachers and her grades have improved dramatically. Great school!
