I attended Millbrun Middle School from 1994-1998. I found the course offerings to be very challenging and the student body was composed of a academically motivated diverse student body. There were a number of extracurricular offerings ranging across sports music theater various clubs and other avenues for students to express their interests. I will say the atheltic facilities were lacking and often sporting practices and contests were held at other venues. All in all Millburn Middle is a fine instition which sits in a very beautiful and nurturing community of Millburn-Short Hills. I highly endore this school system.

I am a parent of a student who is entering the school this September as a six grader. Long before the school start date we had already been invited to an orientation session at the school including discussion of the transition from elementary to middle school overview of the school tour-around of the school and many common issues parents/students would encounter. In particular the session on preventing students from drug uses and violences is extremely helpful. The students also got a chance to visit and mingle with their peers at a special weekend party. I know many parents who have kids at the school now and they are very happy about the school and would recommend it to all their friends.

Overall a very good school. Academic standards increase as the kids progress from 6th grade through 8th grade. Parents are very actively involved in the school. Teacher quality is good in general but there are some teachers who are below the mark. Principal of the school is very good and is doing a great job.

My son entered 6th grade this fall and so far we are very happy with his teachers classes and facilities. The curriculum is good and Edline capability is very useful. The school has a large population but they work hard to make it work. Dedicated administrators teachers and parents just what you'd expect from a great district and town like Millburn.

People rarely brag about a middle school but we have one of the best. Mr. Cahill (principal) really loves this age group and it shows! There are wonderful electives and a top notch group of teachers.

Overrated. What I was most surprised about when my son entered 6th grade is the inconsistencies between teachers all teaching the same grade. We were handed paper handouts for each individual class with very different requirements for each individual class. It was a surprise both that the teachers in the same grade weren't better coordinated and also the lack of use of the school website to post these documents electronically. Overly complex for no reason. Very overcrowded. Very stressed out teachers. Hard to learn in this environment.

MMS is an amazing example of how well dedicated teachers and parents who support the educators and their children can create an enviroment where all children can succeed

MMS is an excellent school for children in 6-8 grade. Every child is given the same opportunity with exquisite teacher whom dedicate their time to help you. I really enjoy this school and feel in a safe environment when I am there.

An outstanding school with an exceptionally high level of parent involvement. Teachers are well-credentialed with most if not all having advanced degrees including many Phd's. Consistently rated amongst the best in the country with good reason. Serving an very affluent student population.

Excellent school. One of my children is a graduate the other is in 8th grade. School facilities are stretched thin but excellent teaching and opportunities. Competes with a lot of private schools in the area.

overrated parents do most of the work. teachers are tenured bureaucrats.

There was an article written I believe in the Independent Press about a lack of funding for technology. There are grants on websites which fund technology in school. It would be a great way to find money other than the raising of taxes. MMS is doing a great job with Middle School age children. Sorry but I can't offer my time. I have a full time job. But maybe someone else has time.

It is a great school. Very competitive. There are good afterschool programs. Unfortunately no sports program is being offered. It is important for a good school to have some sort of sports program that includes major sports that are offered at other surrounding middle schools. Parent- teacher/staff communication system is not very good. drop off and pick up system is poor. I have to drop my child off almost a mile away from my home so that he can walk back to school which is on the way to this drop off place! This is done without any given reason.
