My husband and I are both in the military and this is the 4th school district our children have been students in. They've attended public school in TX NJ and PA and have NEVER experienced racial discrimination but since we've lived here my son has been physically and verbally assaulted by African-American students. We are applying for changes in school assignment for both our children. I've spoken with other parents whose children have been the victims of bullying and I'm sorry to report that although the academics seem on par with the other schools my children have attended the complete lack of discipline in this school far outweighs any of the learning my children are doing.

These views are ALL wrong. I don't know what your kids have been telling you but I went to Bryson for 3 years and it didn't come close to what y'all are making it out to be. Sure there were fights-give me a middle school that hasn't had one!-but there are NO gangs. The teachers DO care about the success of there students-even the ones who hate YOU. Another thing the completely seperate the child and parent. The parent could act like a DEVIL to the teachers and the teachers would still love the student and want to see them succeed. And really? You don't like the school because of the SECRETARIES? OK-AY. Give the school a bad review because of-GASP-the secretary. This school isn't a Heaven-I'm not saying that-but it isn't what your children have been telling you. If I had to say anything negative they put 7th & 8th grade luch too late. 6th graders get to eat at 10 45-11 30 and 7th grade has to wait until 5th period (11 53-12 53) and 8th graders eat 6th period (12 45-1 35). But that's it. You're making it seem like it's a TERRIBLE school that sells drugs and has gangs and it's not. These teachers are pretty serious when you throw a PENCIL across the room. Sincerly Student

This school is horrible! Some Lady's at tha front desk are just full of attitude. 7th grade administrator is just horrible. I don't say Hate but I can not Stand him. All the other administrator are something to brag for. But for him he needs to GO!!

This school is horrible My daughter recently left Bryson because of so many things! Bullying Fight the students are so inappropriate. The teachers are so done they don't even care. The new principle well you never saw her .

This school is absolutely terrible. The staff are often unhelpful the teachers don't listen and seem to be unhappy where they are and the dress code can be very stressful for teachers and students alike. If I could this school would get 0/5 stars.

I have been very impressed with Bryson and felt it deserved a more recent review. My daughter just finished 6th grade there and is looking forward to her 7th grade year. We do have a new prinicpal starting this year but it seems the previous principal did a great job weeding out many of the behavioral issues that seemed to have plagued the school before he came. The school is very clean and bright the teachers are enthusiastic and very engaging with their students. They have done a great job with the physical layout of the school to minimize the interaction between grades. The dress code is reasonable and there are numerous activities for kids to participate in. My daughter discovered archery there. They also provide reward days throughout the year like "Chilling on the Green" and dress-down days. They seem to really understand this age group. Only once did I have to visit the front office and agree the lady there isn't as warm and friendly as she could be but that's hardly a statement on the school itself.

Bryson is a great school. I feel safe in sending my child to the school. He has done well and has been an A/B student while participating in extra-curricular activities and still being active in Boy Scouts and church. He has scored Exemplary on his PASS. This is due in part to his teachers and their strive to help their students be successful. I am completely happy with my son attending this school. He would normally be attending Hillcrest Middle but we petitioned for him to attend Bryson Middle.

my son is homeschooled and wanted to try public school but I was very skeptical about letting him go to Bryson Middle because of all the parents I have talked to everyone and I mean everyone told me dont do it. Horrible school. Well I decided to tour it with my son and make our own decision. Boy were they right. The counselor has an attitude problem and it seems so does the office personnel. I didnt know the difference between the middle school students attitude and the faculty. I wonder if thats where the kids get their attitude from. Needless to say he will NOT be going and will go to private school if he wants.

I do not feel as though the teachers truly care about the students and their success. The comment about the secretary is true as well. I have had numerous issues with this school and am looking to move my son elsewhere. I would not recommend placing your child here at this time.

My child started Bryson Middle school after the private school she was attending closed. I was unsure what to expect but can only say I was PLEASANTLY surprised!! Bryson Middle school is a fantastic school with very caring competent teachers. The athletic events we have attended have been very well supervised. Yes there is still teenage drama but the school itself is wonderful. I don't feel the teachers and faculty get enough credit for all they do for the students. I would recommend Bryson Middle school without hesitation.

The woman in the office is so rude she makes the DMV people look like saints! I do not like this school.

Principal at BMS is fantastic. Very student oriented. Atmosphere at school is great. BMS has one of the best music departments in the state. Also the Robotics Team is also top notch. Lots of extra curriculars for the kids to choose from. In the process of implementing a uniformed dress code. PTSA is awesome.

I was a bit nervous at first being new in the area and my child attending Bryson Middle School after reading some of the reviews on this page. I must say I am no longer nervous. The school is newly re-done clean and friendly. My son loves his teachers and they routinely email progress reports where I can keep tabs on grades and homework. Fortunately my child is a good student and enjoys his time at Bryson. THere are kids that misbehave but not any more than any other school we have attended. THis school is not given enough credit.

This School has gangs and a lot of issues even with the new principal .They need to be more strict and not allow the children to run the school

This is my son's first year at this school. So far his teachers have been very helpful. Cleanliness seems to be good. The new Principal was the Principal at my son's elementary school. He is a very nice christian man and also his wife. He had the school running smoothly and was very helpful with my two sons. He really cares about the children and the involvement of their families. He has already made some great changes at Bryson Middle and I am sure he will keep doing so. I would now rate the Principal Leadership of this school 5 star.
