Kentucky Core Content Tests (KCCT)

In 2010-2011 Kentucky used the Kentucky Core Content Tests (KCCT) to assess students in grades 3 through 8 and 10 through 12 in reading, social studies, science, writing, and math. The Elementary School results displayed on GreatSchools profiles are for grades 3 through 5 combined for each subject. Middle School results are for grades 6 though 8 combined, and High School results are for grades 10 though 12 combined. The KCCT is a standards-based test, which means it measures how well students are mastering specific skills defined for each grade by the state of Kentucky. The goal is for all students to score at or above proficient on the test.

Meece middle School is a public school with dedicated school staff faculty and administrators. My son followed the instruction of his teachers. We assisted him with studying his subjects if not nightly then weekly. We found the parent portal helpful with following his progress. Robo calls and important hardcopy reminders from the principle advising on important test dates and prep info were helpful too. There are many more qualities this school has but time prohibits.

Not exactly a great school. My child complains of lack of challenging work a crippled gifted/talented program and undersized undercooked lunches. The principal may send out a newsletter to parents every semester. My child says they aren't taught in some of their core classes. They say that they write down notes that are not taught upon are given problems to do and either its sink or swim. They say in one of their classes all they talk about is things totally irrelevant to that subject. Their grade has suffered due to this I have tried talking to administrative officials about fixing these problems but they aren't useful. I will be pulling my child from this once great school district. And to you parents out there reading this. PLEASE don't put your child into the Somerset District. My child has suffered emotionally due to their incompetence and I wish yours will not.

When my child was sick I would call for h/w maybe there would be 1 sheet of work maybe none. no one ever calls to check on your child if he or she is doing poorly. There is no Privacy at this school. They dont care! This school is not what Somerset use to be about. The def. need more caring teachers and more interaction with students and parents.

I think it is a good school. My son is in 7th grade there. The staff are always helpful and nice.

Poor school for gifted and talented students. My child never brought homework home and is bored. I will be taking her out of district.

Good school. My daughter goes there and she is smart. Good art work down the hallways. The sixth grade teachers should get a medal. Meece Middle School is the best Middle school in Kentucky.
