Kentucky Core Content Tests (KCCT)

In 2010-2011 Kentucky used the Kentucky Core Content Tests (KCCT) to assess students in grades 3 through 8 and 10 through 12 in reading, social studies, science, writing, and math. The Elementary School results displayed on GreatSchools profiles are for grades 3 through 5 combined for each subject. Middle School results are for grades 6 though 8 combined, and High School results are for grades 10 though 12 combined. The KCCT is a standards-based test, which means it measures how well students are mastering specific skills defined for each grade by the state of Kentucky. The goal is for all students to score at or above proficient on the test.

Teachers are not focused on individual needs of students parent pick up is chaos and unorganized. I am sad my child lives in this district.

I don't know where the child/teacher ratio comes from but my child has yet to be in a class with less than 22 students.

About 3 yrs ago my family relocated to Somerset KY and we were nervous about the schools but I must say that I have been so impressed with the quality of edcuation and respect at Pulaski Elementary. The teachers are great with the kids and communicate effectively with the parents. They have STAR jobs for kids try for starting 3rd grade. Students apply for these jobs just like a real job & they go through the interview process just like a real job. Some of the STAR jobs are Story readers News team anchor broadcasters crew computer operators etc. Too many to name. They also have a great security program; my children are safe! Overall great school!!!!
