We also have moved here from out of state and are very disappointed to say the lease. I cannot agree more with the posts from parents on 2-18-13 6-6-12 and 6-30-11 as they are spot on. We are very involved parents and just cannot believe the way that students are allowed to act in class. While assisting in a 4 grade class one of the students told the teacher to "F" off as they did not have to listen to them. There is no structure or organization both of which are cornerstones for a elementary school education. Look at all alternatives before sending your child to East Lake.

By looking at the school website you'd think this school "has it all together." What we've found however is the exact opposite. The principal is uncaring the teachers rude and unorganized and there is no diversity whatsoever. If you're thinking about enrolling your child...There are plenty of other schools within driving distance. I would recommend ANY of the other schools over Eastlake!

My daughter is in Kindergarten and at Eastlake they seem to take safety very seriously. They wouldn't let me walk across the sidewalk where the cars leave the kindergarten drop off area. I'm excited for my daughter to apply for the Chinese dual immersion.

After moving from another state and attending this school for a year. The school's communication is horrible! The principal doesn't return emails the teacher just gets by and the Chinese Immersion class is for 1st graders only! There is no pride in the school regarding band or orchestra parents are not notified about upcoming concerts only the school children go. Extremely poor communication about things happening in the school. I would not recommend putting your child in this school. They teacher to the lowest learning child.

I have been very pleased with this school. The school is challenging for my child but not over whelming. My child talks very highly of the teacher and other students. The teacher is great with responding with email issues within the same day.

My daughter is a kindergartener at Eastlake and so far I LOVE her teacher and the programs the school uses to further healthy life choices as well as education. There is some bullying but i place blame on the snooty parents not the teachers. The office staff has been wonderful and attentive.

We moved from out of state having high expectations for a brand new elementary school and for the curriculum. Wow it's been quite a let down. Unless you get a teacher who really knows the Utah education system and seeks to aim higher kids are going to fall behind at this school. My daughter pretty much repeated kindergarten as a 1st grader here. They are not even introducing double digit math even by the end of the school year. My other children were not stretched as well; pretty frustrating. The front office is not attentive I left my daughter a bag of comfort things for their "movie day" she told me to leave it and they would get it to her come to find out she never received it and when I came to pick it up; no apology just excuses. Another time I came in and the ladies were eating. The xtra programs that go on seem so frustrating instead of "fun" and there's no excitement and seems to be a lack of organization and confidence in the ranks.

This school is fantastic. Eastlake Elementary also has a Chinese Immersion program started in 2010/2011 school year. The principal is top notch with a good handle on her school and is very responsive to parents. The teachers work hard and collaborate with each other to increase student performance. Communication with the teachers has been positive in the two years we have been there. The literacy team is strong and the ability to get the students on grade level is amazing. My child enjoys the students at this school and there is a lot of school spirit happening here. Overall as a former teacher I have been very happy with the school and the education my child is receiving.

My daughter has attended this school now for 2 years. First year was 2nd grade and second year was 3rd grade. The 2nd grade teacher was fantastic in many ways. The 3rd grade teacher is good but needs improvement as she is a file-cabinet teacher and needs to use new methods.
