Wisconsin Student Assessment System (WSAS)

In 2013-2014 Wisconsin used the Wisconsin Student Assessment System (WSAS), which includes the WKCE and WAA, to test students in grades 3 through 8 and 10 in math and reading, and in grades 4, 8 and 10 in language arts, science and social studies. The WSAS is a standards-based test, which means it measures how well students are mastering specific skills defined for each grade by the state of Wisconsin. The goal is for all students to score at or above the proficient level. In private schools, only voucher program participants are tested. GreatSchools' ratings currently reflect 2012-13 testing data. Beginning in the 2012-2013 school year, the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction implemented new definitions of what it means to be proficient on the WSAS test. As a result of these changes, proficiency scores for Wisconsin schools are lower than they were in previous years.

This school is just okay. My child has had success with about 50% of the teachers they've had so far. The good teachers go above and beyond the call of duty and truly care about their students. The other half just do the bare minimum and have little communication with the parents. They have a new principal every couple of years. The current one doesn't listen to the concerns of the parents.

my son absolutely loves this school. the teachers have all been very nice. I feel it is a safe environment. the teachers are very good about letting you know if your child is having any difficulties in class.

My son came to Luther when school had already started. Everyone was so friendly and he adjusted well. The teacher was so caring and worked well with the children. I felt he had learned alot and I'm glad he was able to attend this school. I'm hoping next year he'll be able to attend at this school.
