My son went to this school and its a great school system excellent teachers great programs

Brewster central school district is the most comprehensive school dis.trct in Putnam county. I will substantiate my statement will several examples. First I am a school teacher in a neighboring district and moved within the Brewster district to send ou children their. Brewster is the only school in pc that offers thur. ROTC program. Graduates go on to West Point Annapolis and other universities tat offer ROTC. The admin and some teachers went to china several years ago to build an educational relationship and exchange this is still going on. Our kids have taken Chinese studies at HH Wells. This was a terrific experience for them and us as well. A fantastic HS science teacher takes students to Cornell university for a few days to study micro biology with graduate students another unique opportunity. The country and track teams are tops in their section often sending kids to college for running and throwing scholarships. For you thespians out there the theater dep. puts on pays and musicals that rival broadway. I ave never heard of a better marching band. These kids along with ther ber talented teacher have performed all over. In march they played Ireland. Proud!

Brewster Highschool is a good school in terms of safety and cleanliness. It also has respectful advanced programs and extracirricular activities. A downside to the school is it's ability to prolong a youths career in sports. Talented athletes aren't given the necessary resources to allow them to excel in top Universities. Overall a solid school and solid staff in a nice community.

Brewster High School is a wonderful school full of great teachers and coaches that show up every day prepared to motivate and impart knowledge upon their students. As a Brewster High School alum I can say with full confidence and conviction that Brewster High School more than adequately prepares its students for life's next steps whether it be further education or the work force. I wholeheartedly recommend Brewster High School to any prospective students.

This school has many after school activities. The teacher staff isnt as well as expected but it could improve.

I'm a senior at BHS (class of 2010) having switched into it in sophomore year. Having been in other schools formerly I can honestly say I have never seen such an abundance of terrific teachers and interesting students. The student body is a mixture of kids as we have a large latino population as well but there are practically no cliques and the kids are extremely welcoming. In my three years at Brewster I've only had one really bad teacher and even she had her moments. I completely recommend the school to anyone who wants a terrific education for their kids.

When it comes to developing well balanced individuals the Brewster School system gets it. Academics & extracurricular activates work together to round out a student for the real world.

I'm a junior at BHS and this is my second year here. I formally went to a private school in Chicago which is well known to be terrific only to find that BHS offers a much better program; in fact it's one of the best that I (or my parents who are both teachers) have seen. All of my teachers are extremely helpful and love students who are interested. Students are rarely neglected; teachers make it their priority to assist their students in every way. The academics are terrific; I would highly suggest it to anyone!

I think the Brewster Central School district is Great! The teachers show great concern for the children and are very careful not to label a child when resource is needed. They ensure parents are notified of any academic as well as behavioral problems and they work closely with school officials and parents to make sure each child work to their full potential with great encouragement. My son will be graduating from Brewster HS in 2008 and I hope to stay in this school district to watch my (8 year old)daughter graduate as well.

I highly rate this school. I am surprised that anyone would say this school is a military camp - that might have been a teenagers comments! As a parent I consider my daughter lucky that she has such a good school in her community - no need to send her to a private school. Many of the BHS graduates go on to be accepted at many of the top colleges and universities. As far as drug searches - this is becoming standard in most schools - I'm glad that they are one step ahead in this area - I'm surprised if a parent wouldn't be.

My daughter attends the High School and I feel as she does. This is a wonderful school! Are there drug searches? Yes. Are there dogs brought in to search lockers? Yes. What does that tell me? It says that the administration are not hiding their heads in the sand about what goes on in high schools these days. If you think that drugs and violence don't happen in other schools than you are mistaken. How can you change this? Talk to your kids about it tell them how you feel about drug use. I have always felt that the more you talk about it the less likely it is to happen. They have excellent sports programs and a terrific music program it was just rated one of the top 100 in the country. My daughter has a wide selection of AP courses at her disposal. We love Brewster High School.

This school reminds me of prison students are always getting searched for drugs by narcotics dogs and senoirs have no privlages what so ever. Administration isnt stable and doesnt follow set rules..Horrible place

I am concerned about the children's self-esteem. I believe that the school is run like a military camp. I am concerned that there is a 'violence hotline'. I am concerned that they have brought in so many inner city children to enhance their environment that it has endangered and jeopardized the environment of the children who appropriately belong the school district
