Michigan Educational Assessment Program (MEAP)

In 2012-2013 Michigan used the Michigan Educational Assessment Program (MEAP) to test students in grades 3 through 8 in math, reading and writing; in grades 5 and 8 in science; and in grades 6 and 9 in social studies. The MEAP is a standards-based test, which measures how well students are mastering specific skills defined for each grade by the state of Michigan. The goal is for all students to score at or above the proficient level. Beginning in the 2011-2012 school year, the Michigan State Board of Education implemented new definitions of what it means to be proficient on the MEAP test. The new standards for proficiency are higher than in previous years and the percent of students earning a proficient score is expected to be lower as a result of this change.

This is a great school with highly educated teachers. My son has performed well and gets great grades. I wish they had more homework but they have lots of activities and projects. He participates in academic games and basketball there. Don't be upset with the school if you child has bad grades that's your fault.

Adler Elementary... for children who are not having any issues academically or otherwise the school is ok. But if your child has ANY problems the leadership here acts like the child is not worthy. I would NOT recommend this school if your child is not like everyone else's child. The school could improve by trying to find ways to help students not hinder them. There is not always enough GOOD supervision.

I have found Adler elementary school staff and teachers to be of great help. My child is doing well. The secretarial staff is very friendly and helpful. The new principal Mr. Tait is always present and willing to listen to my concerns and ideas.

Adler is a wonderful and family orientated school. The parent group is very supportive of one another. I am a single mother and feel very supported by the teachers and principal Mr. Tait

Adler is a wonderful school that promotes a very high level learning enviornment! The teachers are very hardworking and absolutely great! Outside of the new very POOR leadership under the new principal Jerry Tait I love the school!

My child attends Adler and it is a good school however because of budget cuts we lost a great teacher in the 3rd grade. My only fear is this is just the start of district cuts that will hurt our children

Adler is a great school with incredible teachers. My children have been attending Adler since kindergarten and I can say that I picked Adler for them to attend.

The principal Ms. Jones and staff at Adler are great. I have heard nothing but good reviews about all the teachers. My daughter has been attending Adler since the first grade and now she's in the third grade. I am looking forward to my daughter's fourth and fifth grade years. I would recommend this school to anyone looking for an excellent elementary school.

Incredible school! My daughter has attended since kindergarten and she is now in the fourth grade. The principal Mrs. Jones is awesome. The teachers are incredible Mrs. Little Mrs. Merchant Mrs. Gates Mrs. Zackrie Mrs. Simoni. The extra-curricular activities are wonderful--Academic Games Chess Club. I am sure that the staff at the school will produce numerous future leaders. My child is truly blessed to attend this school because she is receiving an exceptional education.

This is my Daughters first year at Adler. So far I'm very pleased with her first grade teacher Mrs. Merchant I've seen significant improvement in my Daughters learning curve. The Latch Key program is just as excellent. They are really good at assisting with homework. They also have a good spanish teacher as well. I recommend parents take some spanish classes as well it helps the children with learning. Although it's only been 3 months into the school year I'm very pleased with the way things are going.

The environment at Adler is wonderfully nurturing. I appreciate the professionalism that is exhibited from Ms. Jones on down thru her staff. The school is quick to identify areas of concern and chart a course of support for a student if it is warranted. The school gives a good balance of academic social and extracurricular activites which translate to a well rounded student. That is sooooo important. My children have been enrolled in schools who's major focus was academics creating an imbalance. I have nothing but positive remarks for this school and would like to nominate Ms. Jones and her staff for an 'Outstanding School' Award.

I have two children who attend Adler and I would like to say I am very very pleased with the school. I am constantly bragging about the teachers and principle there. I appreciate the teachers for letting you know ahead of time when you child is lacking in an academic program so that you can work along side with them to solve the problem. I also give Adler 5 stars.

Overall Adler is a great school. I've compared this school to areas such as West Bloomfield Bloomfield Hills Farmington Hills and the quality of education is just the same. The principal is a very caring person wants nothing but the best for her students and staff. In areas such additional services it does need extra extra support for students in the 3rd through 5th grade with Reading Comprehension during the day. Overall I've been please with Adler Elementary.

I am a parent of a student that belongs to Adler Elementary. I think this is a wonderful school. The staff and students are great. They have a excellent academic program! I'm so proud of my child reading skills. She is only in the 2nd grade and already reading at a 4th grade level. Also her math skills are great too! I'll give Adler Elementary 4 stars!
