I would like to point out that this is not a Montessori School where all teachers are certified in Montessori methods/teaching. I agree with a Director that it's a parent's responsibility to provide diapers BUT it's a teacher's responsibility to communicate the need for supplies to be replenished. My child did not attend the summer camp at the school. He was so miserable and bored working at the first station with a 1 1/2 year old. He never cried but communicated that he does not like this school. Sadly he has not learned anything new either. As a result I placed my son in a different school which he truly enjoyed. I also continued working with him at home and he began reading at 3 years old. At 4 he taught himself to form letters. Barely 5 he now writes sentences. Obviously the school was unable to meet his academic and social needs.

As a new parent I was very nervous and hesitant for my child to start pre-k but I knew it was the right thing to do for him. When I toured Alpine Montessori my nerves started to lighten as I saw that the children were happy and engaged with not only each other but the staff as well. The Director was kind and answered all of my questions! When I enrolled my son as a part time student he was placed in a great classroom with a teacher that reached out to me when I picked up and dropped off. She also was able not only to make me comfortable but my son as well which was the most important part. He is a very shy boy and he has come out of his shell so much! I love seeing him play with his new friends and when he comes home he loves to tell me the new things he learned! He's pointing out letters numbers colors and he loves to go to school! I don't even know what I was so nervous about! The staff at this school are wonderful I am so happy to have found such a great place for my child. Each staff person is kind and polite treats me and my son with kindness and care and are always engaged with the children. I can really tell that the child comes first here!

As the Director for the Sparta school I feel its necessary to address the review below. I have tried without success to identify the affected family/student. The timing of the review and the fact the child was only with us for four months leads us to believe he was with us during our summer camp. I'm involved in all aspects of our school and I would have expected to be aware of a dissatisfied parent and would of worked to rectify any issue and/or communicate school policy. For example it's the responsibility of the parents to supply diapers not the school. In addition all younger children begin in our Practical Life area and need to master those skills prior to moving forward. Each of our teachers and myself maintain communication on all aspects of each child's development and at any time a family is not satisfied we work in earnest to alleviate those concerns. Those efforts are always done in a professional manner and without prejudice. Finally we are very proud of our school and as the other reviews will attest we work very hard to create a wonderful experience for all our children. Warm regards Doreen Gorman Director Alpine Montessori Sparta

As an educator I spent time teaching my son letters phonics number recognition and counting as well as shapes and colors. By 2 1/2 he was ahead of his peers and acquired a large vocabulary. I sent him to this school in hopes that teachers would continue working with him while I return to work. My son has not learned much at that school in 4 months. He was assigned to one station and was not allowed to move tto math science nor language arts stations. He shared a station with 18 month old kid. Furthermore there was no communication from his teacher. On one occasion I picked him up wearing a girl diaper because they ran out of diapers. On another occasion his jeans and diaper were wet. I was also told that my son who was only taught English since birth "did not sit down when asked...probably due to limited English". Yes he came from a tri-lingual family but everyone spoke only one language to him. I think the teacher had some prejudices and was just ignorant. Would never recommend this school.

I am so glad I was recommended to this school. Having recently moved into the area i was at a loss where to enroll my son who in the past had trouble adapting to new surroundings and people in general which reflected on his learning abilities. The staff here are all very professional and excellent at evaluating the individual needs of each student then applying that knowledge for a course of teaching. The school has recently changed owners which was a little disconcerting at first but the new owner has achieved what I did not think possible. Alpine Montessori is even more fantastic than before. You can tell that this owner actually cares for her staff and students.Tthat is all you can ask for in a school.

Really prepares children in all curriculum. Better than most public schools.

My son attended full time Kindergarten. The curriculum was very challenging. The teachers very disciplined great learning environment. He excelled and loved reading and Science and truly loved math. So much so he's blown away all the 1st graders in his new school. I only wish I could find a school with 1st grade that would keep him as challenged! I wish I could have gotten more in tune with his teachers as with any school the stay at home moms seemed more in touch with the teachers than those that have to work. All in all you can see that all the staff truly care about all the children and teach them education citizenship respect and discipline. The owner is a true gem. They did such great things to make learning super fun. And very reasonably priced for all you get including before and after school care.
