I graduated from Spartan High. Teachers were excellent. Superb opportunities and support for gifted students. Excellent clubs and extracurricular. Demographically diverse. Only criticism is that it can be a bit catty and snobby but you find that anywhere. Send your child here if you want them to succeed in life. 18 years after our graduation date many of my former classmates are now Vice President level and above at leading corporations around the world. Say what you will about Spartan High being elitist or mean but look at the results.

Yes my school has won awards for "best high school" based upon test scores and administration statistics but it is quite obvious that those awarding the accolades never visited the school. I have had teachers who were openly misogynistic and teachers who were openly hostile to students with disabilities. Don't get me wrong there are a lot of fantastic teachers but ask classmated for their opinions before you sign up for classes. There are definitely teachers to go out of your way to avoid. Sure it's a fantastic school if your student is 100% average academically socially and economically but if you're above average academically or below average socially or economically good luck. Also if you're female school adopted policies on sexual harassment will negatively impact your life. The administration is convinced that they don't have a problem with the males of the student body harassing women. They're only fooling themselves. All in all totally average. Very little that's exceptional or excellent unless you're in the market for collecting hair weave that collects in the corners of the hallways. There is an abundance of that.

As a student at Spartan High my experiences here over the last two years have been incredible. The faculty staff and teachers go above and beyond what is expected of them and never once have I had a teacher refuse a request for extra help. I look forward to what my senior year will bring and with such a diverse student body I'm sure that I will make new friends and enjoy new experiences. I hold high expectations for myself and my school for senior year and with all the resources I have here at SHS to help me I'm sure that I won't be disappointed.

Spartanburg High School is the best high school in Spartanburg County. The diverse learning environment is a benefit to students. The challenging courses prepare students for college and the AP program is one of the best in the state. A lot of the teachers have obtained master's degrees and doctorial degrees no other high school in Spartanburg County can say that.
