If there was a rating with 6 stars I would give it to St. Mary's. With the world as it is I greatly appreciate the way the teachers and staff at St. Mary's instruct our children. We have had three of our four children attend St. Mary's from K-8th. Honestly as a non-Catholic I initially was very opposed to the idea. Boy was I wrong! It is awesome to see how our kids approach life's challenges and temptations. They have a developed capacity for forgiveness and compassion. They stand up for kids that aren't in the mainstream socially. They say a prayer for people injured when they hear an ambulance. Also St Mary's graduates excel at the high school level and are well represented on homecoming floats! Our children will face many ethical decisions throughout life. How they handle these situations directly impacts how much joy love and success they achieve. For our family it makes sense that the school they attend be able to help them form a sense of self based on what God wants for us. Lastly there is one poor review from 2008. Much has changed since then including several new teachers. Best of luck in whatever school you decide to send your children! Mark

St. Mary s provides the highest quality education in a safe Christ-centered environment. We see the impact of having small classroom sizes & one-on-one interaction between student/teacher. Uniforms allow classmates impressions based on actions not brands. Our children benefit from frequent visits & open conversations with Fr. Dan/Fr. Bill. Our kids have the option to participate in Spring Lake School clubs/sports. 5th 8th grade boys/girls can play basketball on our own school team & be a cheerleader Go Cyclones! Band gym art Spanish music & choir are year round in addition to strong core curriculum. The lifelong friendships our children are making the exceptional quality academic education & strong moral guidance received by our teachers/staff on a daily basis greatly impacts life & values of our children families parishes & entire community. Our children s friends & family share the same values. St. Mary s provides an environment that we ve come to rely on. Interaction & guidance of fellow parents outside of school is similar to what you expect from relatives. St. Mary s is continuing to grow listening to the needs of students community & changing technology.

I love St. Mary's school. My daughter has attended since three year old preschool. I love the fact that all the kids know each other and the teachers know all the children. The teachers and staff are caring and loving. The academics is first rate...I've heard nothing but positive comments from teachers in high schools when they hear that children have attended St. Mary's school the usually are way ahead of the public schools. I've never been happier in our choice to send our children to the Catholic School. We also love that God is a part of school and our children are being brought up to appreciate all that catholic education has to offer. Thank you St. Mary's School!

St. Mary's not only has excellent academic standards but they teach in an environment of faith based values. My children are taught to be aware of their community and their contribution toward it. We have had the benefit of attending both Catholic and public education and find the benefits of Catholic education are significant. St. Mary's is worth looking into!

St. Mary's School remains dedicated to forward thinking pedagogy as it relates to student learning has remained abreast of technological advances in the classroom and maintains an up-to-date rigorous curriculum while staying true to its Catholic moral values grounded in the teachings of Jesus Christ.

St. Mary's has been a terrific school for our three kids. The staff is attentive caring and dedicated. Parents are committed to improving and furthering Catholic Christian values which the kids display through kindness and caring for others. There is an atmosphere of acceptance and love here and protection from negative cultural influences. The academic achievement and success of St. Mary's students AFTER they leave the school is well documented by the local high schools. There is ample assistance to help pay the tuition which is the lowest of all private schools in the Lakeshore area and the lowest of all Catholic Schools in the Grand Rapids area. The school has a beautiful gym science lab computer lab and music/band facilities. The classrooms buildings are old but well kept but a brand new school is going to be built in 2014/2015 with state of the art classrooms. YAY! Also the website currently is awful but a new one is arriving soon as well. My 5th and 8th graders are getting new tablet computers this year. The school and the parishes that support St. Mary's have made a substantial investment in improving the technology and facilities.

The teachers are always willing to reach out to each and every student. We have a full time Resource Room Teacher who is there to educate students who need extra help in any subject. All of my children have experienced 2nd Grade and it was an exceptional experience for them. Two of our children received additional help which was recommended by the 2nd Grade teacher. She came to us and gave advise on how to proceed and ensure that our children receive the best education. We ve been a part of St. Mary s School for 8 years. If there is a want or a need it will be resolved. We have generous parents teachers and Parish who are willing to back up our school. St. Mary s School and Church are a wonderful faith filled campus. We are truly blessed to be a part of such a great environment.

St. Mary's School is such a wonderful acedemic and faith based school. All of my children feel so safe an loved here and that is so important to me. Their faith grows everyday and the friendships that they make are life long. I have always been able to talk with staff freely. They have proven time and time again that they are here to help every child succeed. The parents who volunteer are fantastic. I love to know that if one of my children is hurt need's help or just need's a smile or hug can turn to any of them and get that! But I can honestly say that beyond the acedemic's and faith St. Mary's children learn how to be good people. Service projects are something the students are very involved with. Honest caring and considerate students is what you find at St. Mary's!!

We found St. Mary's to be an excellent school. Our children have been given a Catholic education that inspires students to excel in learning leadership and service. The alumni of St. Mary's School are attending outstanding selective colleges and universities. To name a few the Air Force Academy Notre Dame and the University of Michigan. We have faith in St. Mary's School. As a parent volunteer I have witnessed the great caring and concern shown to all students by the teachers and staff. The playground is also well supervised by experienced volunteers. I encourage anyone in the tri-cities area to take a closer look at St. Mary's School.

The well meaning staff is losing many children due to overburdened teachers and shrinking budget. They are not equiped to handle special needs children and the rest of the students suffer. Most have been there greater than 15y I believe they are tired and going threw the motions. My wife and I wanted our children to have an education with faith based guidance but we want them to be able to move forward without having to go to Sylvan Learning to make up for problems not addressed in class. My 2nd grader finally got tested after 6 months of pleading. My 4th grader is required to memorize random poems or he will not get to go out for recess. The playground is a huge problem not enough parents involved on a daily basis to help take care of their children. I hope the incomming principal will get things on track.

My children are getting top-quality education in a Christian environement. The school offers Spanish art music and gym to all students with sports and band in the upper grades choir in all grades. This school gets an A!
