End-of-Course Assessments (EOC)

In 2011-2012 Missouri used the End-of-Course (EOC) Assessments to test high school students in Algebra I, Algebra II, Geometry, English I, English II, American History, Government, and Biology. The EOC Assessments are standards-based, which means they measure how well students are mastering specific skills defined by the state of Missouri for each subject. The goal is for all students to score at or above proficient on the test.

I really like the way things have been at this school for the last three years. With a new principal my hope is that things will keep running smooth and the excellent traditions stay intact. The staff is great. Keep singing the school song!

Lots of heart and enthusiasm at Parkview. Just had a rennovatiom and everyone is excited and grateful. Top debate team good athletics and great academic programs. Teachers and administration care about the students and learning.

My school has provided me with many oppourtunities most of which i would have never of had if i didnt go to Parkview. I think our school has one of the closest student bodies in America. As i walk through the halls I can sense a feeling of unity . I am in debate clubs and take all honors and couldnt be more happy with where i am in life. Parkview has helped me get to this point.

If you want to be successful after high school in all aspects of the word then Parkview is the high school to attend...but high school is what you make it. I have seen students from parkview go on to prestigious universities and be very successful witnessed top ranked speech and debaters become all americans and have heard of countless award winning programs that are among the best in the state. On the other hand I have seen students who despite attempts do not reach out to the resources Parkview has to offer. This school has been incredibly successful in giving students the resources necessary to really achieve in life. I have a feeling that those who complain about the quality of the school would complain wherever they go and have not given the effort. Trust me when I say that with the willing Parkview has turned 'water into gold'.

I'm a former student of Parkview. I spent all four of my high school year there and I love this school so much that I am going to go back and teach there. This school used to have some problems with security but thanks to Chance Wistrom all or most of those problems have been taken care of. As with all schools there are those few teachers who have no clue what they are doing but Parkview makes up for those with their amazing staff. Many of the teachers here are willing to help their students with anything. For instance Stephanie Blake is always there for her students she teaches physics and coaches color guard but some how she manages to find time to help students with a wide range of other activites. These are the kind of people that set Parkview apart from the rest and make it the best.

Parkview is improving now that they have air-conditioned years after making the kids suffer in high temps which led to many behavior problems. Now the kids think they may actually have begun to care about them. Still there is bullying problems there and high drop-out rate.

I think Parkview is getting better and better all the time! One of the things that did impress me at Parkview was how many staff members attended Parkview themselves and loved it so much they wanted to teach and or work there! The staff I have met love this school and are very dedicated. The location is beautiful and the new addition is exceptional! Go Vikings!

I graduated from PV last year and have now come to realize that it along with the vast majority of schools in Springfield do not prepare you for college life unless you plan on attending OTC MSU Drury Mizzou or a similar college. I had about two or three good teachers while I was there. Because of this I am now at a significant disadvantage in college. There are some great activities to become involved in and because there is not much competition among students it is fairly easy to succeed. Everyone there is very friendly however and it was always a positive environment in that sense. at

Parkview has an extremely diverse community of kids as well as a brand new building. It is true that some of the classes arent't challenging but that is only if you take the easiest classes that parkview has to offer. Parkview has Ap classes Honors classes and a number of college creedit classes as well. This classes are extremely challenging and require a lot of responsibility on the students part. The school also has a strong sense of school spirit. It doesnt matter if your preppy gothic emo or a jock there is a place for you at Parkview where everyone comes together as fellow Vikings!

The only good thing about the school is the diversity and building-which is in very nice shape-although built like a maze and impossible for new students. I am a junior here and cannot wait to move to get out.

Except for one teacher and one vice principal I love Parkview. I would like to see more involvement from the parents and students with re-guards to sports.

I am a currently a junior at parkview and am extremely dissatisfied with my experience here. The teachers do not push the students at all their idea of a challenge is assigning more worksheets. Their is NO discipline the kids run the show. For the many interesting courses that parkview offers there are teachers who are overloaded and have no passion for the subjects. There are a couple of good things though it is very laid back and few cliques there are a few out standing teachers and the art and debate programs are outstanding as well. However i feel like i have experienced the best of what PKV has to offer and it is not enough to keep me from transferring to GHS for my senior year.

I am a parent of a Freshman student for the academic year 2006-2007 and I would just like to say that I am very please with ParkView so far. I am very impressed with the young new Principle. I do believe he is going to make a huge difference in ParkView. He seems to have the right stuff for the job

I am currently a junor at parkview and have no major complaints. This school has been an aswome place to learn and mature. Despite a small number of taechers who have no remote idea of what is going on the staff is wonderful. The out of school activities are pretty fun and extensive. Due to its extreme diversity it has better perpared me for the real world. I'm glad that I attend parkview for these reasons. And the new building is aswome and really brings Parkview into the 21st century.

I am a student currently attending Glendale high school but I went to Parkview for my freshman and sophomore years. I will definitely be returning to parkview for my senior year mainly because I miss the enviroment. People are much more friendly and everyone gets along at Parkview. Also Parkview offers Photography which is a very rare class in Springfield Public schools. I am definitely looking forward to returning to Parkview next year to graduate.

I am a student at Parkview High and I have never been to a more better school in my life. It might not be the nicest looking school in the district but we have just started building a new wing for the school and we're also remodeling the whole school just after the new wing is done. The music and sports department are a good part of the school I'm currently in Marching Band and Baseball and I love it. I am just happy that I can finist the school year at the best high school in Springfeild Missouri. Thomas Webster

I am a student here at Parkview and I will graduate in 2005. I think that this school is one of the best schools in the district. There may not be a lot of money to put into each and every subject to make the classes better but there is money that is going to the school to make the whole thing better. The school is going to be made into a better learning environment for all the students here at Parkview. I found out today that Parkview has gotten the award of Outstading school designation beating out all the other schools in the district except for Pershing Middle School. So to anyone that doesn't think that Parkview is a very good school you need to take another look and give the teachers and the classes a chance.
