SHS is a great school especially since the new principal Mr. Watson has come aboard. They have a great medical program (which my daughter is enrolled in & enjoys it) ROTC caring teachers along with other great academic achievements.

My school is the most amazing school ever. Everybody should be at this school. I like all the classes I have.

I am very disgusted with Stockbridge High School. Please do not have a kid who has a health issue. The guidance counselor assigned to my child showed no kind of interest. Thank God for the social worker who came to the school once per week. My child had a breakdown in school and instead of assisting me with getting him help they issued an expulsion. I have never meet such uncaring people.

As a student i have been there for only about 4 months and noticed that yes the school does have a good grip on discipline. Though word of advice to your student... they tend to make faces at those who beleive in non conformity and lifeline of school spirit is flat.who knows? maybe your student will have a great time....or not.

My son graduated from Stockbridge High in 2006. The teachers and school staff preformed to the best of their ability considering all the rules and guidelines they must follow. Discipline is one of the major problems in public schools. It is unnerving that parents that would argue & fight against the school as their kid was failing due to not doing class work or homework were constantly misbehaving and disrespecting teachers and staff. Instead of parental support for school officials and enforcing the school rules. My experiences at SHS were positive. Parents get involved! Help the teachers educate your children by supporting them. These Kids belong to You!

Stockbridge High is an awful school. I went there for two years and they care too much about enforcing the rules of tucking in your shirt than they do about the actual students and their education.

this schoool is cheap and unworthy of its students. they only care about dresscode ad non necessary facts. not enouhg about schooling and successss

I have always liked this school. The teachers really care about student learning. The support has been excellent for my three children.

My child relocated here and was lacking in her academic preparation. SHS has challenged her and she has responded well. I know there are some parents out there who do not share my view but I know that Stockbridge is an awesome school. We as parents need to not treat SHS as a child care center. I attend the positive parents meetings. We should fill the gymnasium and not just occupy a few seats in the Media Center. Our kids grow when they see us getting involved in their academic endeavors. Stockbridge High School will prepare your child for the future if your child wants to get prepared. Stop complaining and support your child and his/her school. There is no reason why SHS does not have 5 stars from all. How many stars are you rated at?

this school is o.k. but seriously lacking in student activities for the school. Like pep rallies and also getting the students involved in day-to-day activities.

I'd like to say that I have had one student to graduate (2004) and one to graduate next year from Stockbridge High. As with any school you have bad apples -teachers and students! Fortunately for my family Stockbridge has been wonderful! If there is a problem it is handled diplomatically by the teachers and/or administrators (past and present). We must all learn that every outcome is not going to be favorable but it is usually in the BEST interest of the student not the parent. It is important that parents realize that the school is an extension of home; you must set the foundation and understand that the school has rules in order to ensure safe learning environment for ALL students. Academically the rigor is there and opportunities for success are at your fingertips! My second son is college bound as well thanks to the faculty and staff of Stockbridge High!!!

Stockbridge High School has always been an awful school. The entire Henry County School System is lacking in general. Every year this school makes it more and more difficult for students to stand out and really be individuals. Nor do they care about involving the parents. Their art program has seriously declinded. This school used to have some of the most talented art students around. Over the years their art and music program has greatly declined.

Im a current student at stockbridge high school and i would have to say its not the best highschool when it comes to the students. I believe that the teachers do all they can to help us graduate but some of the students just dont care. The parents involvement in the sports programs this year was excellent and the freshman class is really trying to make a difference. The new principal is doing a good job too ive seen him eat lunch with alot of the students and he shows intrest in hearing what they have to say. Alot of the students dont agree with the id's but they dont realize that its for there safety. I think stockbridge high is a great school to attend.

I am very disapointed with the school currently. The principal seems to think the school belongs to him not to the parents. As he told me personally' this is his house' and we do things my way or no way'! I am delighted to hear that he will no longer be there when my next child is ready to attend. I pray that going forward the next principal will listen to the parents and the students concerns and not have is own ego in mind.

I can only hope that a new Principal will improve things at Stockbridge High. I literally fear for my childs safety here on a daily basis. And when Dr. Hurt was asked to intervene he was very rude and quick to dismiss me and the incidents in general. So I had to go to the Henry Co. Police on several occassions. My childs education is suffering due to the enviroment at this school and as soon as possible I will get her out. And I have also taken steps to make sure my other children will NOT have to attend here either. I would recommend anyone moving to this area to check out the school system BEFORE you move to Stockbridge. We moved here 4 years ago FOR the schools...but now we have to move again because OF THE SCHOOLS. The school system went down fast wonder why???

I am so glad to learn that Stockbridge will be getting a new principal this year. I think then the school and students morale and quality of education will be greatly enhanced. I think Dr. Hurt is unfair in his discipline. I think there is absolutely no accountability of the teachers and the students have absolutely no voice in disputes. Dr. Hurt makes unnecessary remarks and even makes students feel discouraged at times with his remarks of expected failure of the students. As far as parental support and involvement - there is none because it is so discouraged.

Stockbridge High School is a great school. The school is strong academically and most of the sports programs are excellent. The Principal Dr. Antonio Hurt is a great leader. He is young and enthusiastic. My son and his teachers speak highly of him and the programs he has implemented. I am involved in the school as a volunteer and see things first hand. He was named State of Georgia Administrator of the Year recently. We are second in the county in SAT scores and other test scores show improvement each year. I researched where I wanted my son to attend school and spoke with many people about the school. I have been very pleased with my son's education. I don't understand the person who gave the negative rating. I do know they can't spell 'since'.

Stockbridge High School was named a Georgia School of Excellence in 2002. But Sinse new principal Dr. Antonio Hurt took over it has became a School of Shame! The principal takes no leadership in times of need. Test scores and passing rates have dropped greatly. Something should be done.

The teachers at Stockbridge High School are wonderful. Just to name a few.... Mrs. McDonald-math Mr. Guthrie - English & Coach Hallmark-history. I learned more from them in the one year I had them than in the other 3 years of different teachers. I hope they still are employed there today if not then a lot of students are missing out.

Stockbridge is a great school that has many fine teachers. The honors and AP teachers i've had there the past four years have been wonderful and I know have taught me alot. The principal encourges students to go and support their teams and promotes school spirt. Stockbridge is the best in the county when it comes to English skills. There is a wide range of AP class students can take. They are also known for there soccer baseball and basketball programs. The Stockbridge Marching Band has won several grand championships and the other bands that they have play at important events and are well thought of. The school is neat and orderly but lacks creativity on the hallway walls were posters could be hung. All rules are enforced. All in all Stockbridge is a great school.
