My son attends Champion as an 8th grader. His first year as a 7th grader was very challenging regarding social integration and acceptance as a newcomer. The students appeared to be disorganized and ungovernable. This year the leadership was excellent. There have been virtually little to no fights many successful activities attentive and some very dedicated teachers.

I attend this school and I have enjoyed it up until the 8th grade. The 8th grade team I am on is very difficult to work with and they never put in grades which has caused even my parents to lose trust in me. The teachers have continued to call parents and gang up on one students like bullies and call there parents. This semester because of this tom-foolery alot of the students on my team are failing. This school is great and organized but a bunch of melarky when it comes to finding great teachers. These teachers are bullies and shouldn't be allowed to teach. They are the rudest in the history of great schools.
The school is ok to say the best. Lots of work and no guidance turns out disastrous! Teachers are more focused on dressed code than the child's needs. Horrible communicationfromteachers and the best they can say is check the parent portal that they don't keep up to date. The school is old and in serious need of major repairs!!!
My daughter is currently in the 7th grade and we had a wonderful year in 6th grade. She was on the Paladins Team. During her first semester in 6th grade her grades dropped significantly..... The adjustment of middle school and its challenges. Not completing assignments. However we met with the teachers arranged parent conferences communicated via parent portal and kept up with the assignments. This made a whole of difference in keeping my child on track.... The teachers worked hard and put out extra effort to ensure the children are learning. I give my hats off to them. Having to dealing with all the different personalities of not only the children but the parents as well. Great Job Teachers!!!!! Keep up the good work.
CTMS is awful! My daughter is in 7th grade and she barely gets homework when she does the teachers grade half of the work. The communication with us parents is horrible. My daughter was furious when I told her she was accepted she said it was lame and boring ( you know what most teens say now). The uniforms are cute but my daughter wants to express her style I've done some thinking. She will be going to either Redan or Stephenson Middle School next year I hear they have a nice academic program.
We just completed 6th grade - our first year at Champion. I must say that I was very pleased at our experience there. I had a great core of 6th grade teachers. Communication was great - we consistently got communication about events at the school and due dates of activities. My son has done very well.
This school is a joke. The people rating it must be out of their minds. This is the first time my child had attended public school and now I know why. There's no communication between the teachers and parents. I will email them and get no response. My child is in 7th grade and doesn't have homework. Really!!!! How do you prepare for the CRCT if you don't have anything to do. They have a math substitute who's just getting a paycheck. The student academic person for this grade level doesn't care. People and myself included are flopping here becasue this is a great school. It is unitl you a apart of it. Don't send your child here if you want them to learn because that's not happening. From my understanding it use to be a good school but not now just like the rest of Dekalb County. Nobody cares about the children only their paychecks.
The Champion School is awesome the Staff prepared my sons to be high achievers. The Acamedic Programs are vigorous highly recommend this school.
I have never been to a school where the teachers have all the "say so" and down degrade the students in a mockery manner. Then they assign a ridiculous amount of work and it's never all graded. They don't even keep the grades current online for parents viewing. For example right before progress report time (like a day or two before) the teachers will put in 7 to 10 grades you are not made aware of so that "B" you saw two days ago changes to a low "C" in a matter of a day's time. Now for the downfall that really reaches over the top. Every year the students are given an extreme amount of mandatory work for the summer to complete but it is NEVER graded. What's the point? Visit the website now and scroll to summer projects the assignments are listed right now per grade level. I'm not sure if the principal is lacking back bone or just have become death to the parents complaints. I have taken my child out because of this foolishness.
i went to this school and i was so misrible i had the worst time and the teachers never tought me anything. i am so happy i dont go there anymore!
I have enjoyed my experience at The Champion School. Great Job!!! It is a true family atmosphere.
My daughter is in the 6th grade. So far I have been pleased. I don't think they do a great job of communicating though. The Black History Tour was canceled due to low numbers but nothing was mentioned beyond the teacher's website. It should have been listed on the calling post. More could have been done.
My son is an 8th grader. He is miserable. The teachers are rude don't respond to the parents and act like they really don't care about the kids. I'm just glad he is leaving this year. The only good thing about the school is the arts education programming.
My child was selected to attend The Champion School this year. The school is awesome!! I have been very pleased with the leadership teaching and learning. I am glad we made the change and was accepted. I know the school has a very long waiting list.
This school is bad and the teachers are bad and they are rude do not let your children go here.
My son has homework daily including weekends! The teachers respond to phone calls and e-mails promptly. Lots of kids do NOT turn in their homework because the parents aren't checking the agenda planners. The consequences should be greater! My son is learning a lot this year and I'm very proud that he is at this school and not his home school!
this school is very unorganized my son dose not come home wit homework and the teachers never teach him nothing
I'm an alumni from Champion and i must say that school is AWESOME. The environment is very friendly; something that I am not seeing in high school. Also the teachers are wonderful. They take time to adapt to your learning style and make the information easier to relate to. As for lunches i can't really sugar coat that one. But as like most schools the lunch would definitely have to be something you adjust to. Overall the school is great filled with a friendly social environment understanding teachers and somewhat a good learning environment. I would recommend this school to anyone. -MARQOSPIFFEDUP former student.
Excellent teacher/parent involvment and academic excellence is required by all students
Thanks to the Champion facility and staff. Our middle school experience has been exciting and I look forward to completing this 8th grade year with the Champion facility and staff. I am sure that my daughter will represent well at the National Young Leaders State Conference for Champion this year. > >Thank you > >Consherto Williams Parent
