Wisconsin Student Assessment System (WSAS)

In 2011-2012 Wisconsin used the Wisconsin Student Assessment System (WSAS), which includes the WKCE and WAA, to test students in grades 3 through 8 and 10 in math and reading, and in grades 4, 8 and 10 in language arts, science and social studies. The WSAS is a standards-based test, which means it measures how well students are mastering specific skills defined for each grade by the state of Wisconsin. The goal is for all students to score at or above the proficient level.

-Class of 2014 graduate - Stratford Junior/Senior High is a great place to attend for any student who wishes to acquire the necessary education needed for college. Special Education service is amazing and the classes offered are very dynamic. With the addition of Blackboard and Odysseyware online courses the possibilities are endless. Unfortunately Stratford is fairly obsessed with sports. For a student who is passionate about sports this is an incredible school; but for one such as myself who had a passion for writing drawing or reading; such appeasement was difficult to find here. The school is very involved in sports but lacks groups for the students who put sports behind other things such as a book club. This greatly limits the options for many students and may leave many greatly non-social thus putting them in an uncomfortable position. The teachers here can be very persistent when it comes to assignments which isn't a bad thing. No student is left in the dark their grades are always being watched closely and if one is to fall behind a teacher will be there to help immediately. Because of this failing high school is an extremely unlikely scenario.

The drama here is unbelievable I'd say at least 40% of the students that go here cut or have cut and have depression also. Teachers stand by idly too as it all happens.

Stratford High is nice for a small school but it revolves completely around sports. So if your child is a 'jock' then this is the school for him/ her otherwise look else where.
