As the smallest elementary school in Sudbury Haynes almost feels like a private school. There is tremendous parent involvement and the school makes the most of that enthusiasm and energy. The Haynes Organization of Parents (HOP) provides additional science and arts enrichment for the students which has included performances by an opera troupe a live "lightning" demonstration as well as funding grade-level cultural activities including Mexico day and Japan day as well as the ever popular Colonial day. The teachers are excellent and welcome parent involvement in the classroom. The playground is exceptional with a spider-web net huge play structure and great field access. Haynes principal knows every child's name and more often than not can be found interacting with the students as well as the teachers.
