I graduated from Springfield in 1994 and went on to get my Bachelors from Kent. I felt I was prepared for college when I finished H.S. I had bought a house in Ellet but after having children we decided to move back to Springfield so our kids could go to these wonderful schools. Very happy to be part of the Springfield community!

My three children graduated from Springfield. They were very active in the amazing marching band. My daughters went on to graduate from Point Park University with honors and one of them just completed her masters degree from the University of Akron. The academics is much better than Akron Public Schools but behind Green and Lake. Most teachers are very good.
this is a great school with wonderful staff and programs i personally enjoy the journalism dept. they put a lot of work and time into providing you a wonderful paper year round.
I was currently a sophomore at springfield this year until i moved. I would say springfield was a great school and the education that was being taught was good. I couldnt say i paid as much attention as i should of but just by being there everyday i knew that the teachers knew what they were teaching and that kids learned from them. There was alot of physical activities and school activies that were being offered there also which of many participated in.
I am a second generation to have the pleasure of attending Springfield High School. School is what you make of it. The teachers and staff at SHS actually care about the students. My family moved to Flordia before I graduated so I went on to a new bigger and 'better' school it was anything but. I was just another number there a faceless student lost in the shuffle. I was ahead of Flordia schools after coming from SHS and was placed in several Honor programs because of the higher education that I received. I will always love this school and it staff.
I graduated from Springfield High School three years ago and I now am digusted to have been part of this school. I went to a major university directly out of Springfield and fell flat on my face. From my graduating class many of the students who went to college did not last past one year(including many who were 'smart' and in the Top 20% of the class). This school will not adequately prepare a student for college work or a life outside of high school without college. I would not recommend this high school to anyone I'd even send my children to a catholic school over Springfield. My brother and sister are lucky we moved out of state and will not have to endure a useless education. They are getting a quality education at a school that Springfield should strive to be but doesn't come close.
I am a parent of a 10th grade student at Sringfield High and I am very pleased with the school it is a great place for a child to go. They have a wonderful band department and the teachers really seem to be there for their students(Mr. Wallace and Mr. Castlow) are two of the best teachers that my daughter had last year and she did great in their class. I wouldn't send my children to any other school. I will be with this school for even after my oldest graduates because I have a 6yr old and a 5 year old that will be going there some day.
