Geiger is a fantastic option for famlies looking for more freedom and creativity in the classroom. We have had a terrific experience for over 3 grades and have experienced a superior teacher. I also really like the multi-age classroom. It has taught my son how to be a good leader and help his peer group out. The principle Ms. Pond has a zero tolerance for bullying and it shows!!! I only hope my daughter will have a spot in two years.

Mrs. Bond and the entire staff here are excellent! The environment is so calm and quiet peaceful. I wish I went to this school when I was a kid! My daughters love it here and so do I!

My daughter attends Geiger and we are both really pleased the teachers and faculty. The Montessori method teaches great things! We are blessed to have this school and these wonderful teachers in our neighborhood! The family involvement is also excellent and provides this school with so much.

I had a daughter go from kinder to 3rd grade and she has had great experiences at Geiger. The teachers had always given my daughter all the special attention that they could spare. The PTA was very involved and made many contributions. My daughter has never said anything but wonderful things about her teachers and principal.

My granddaughter is only in kindergarden but the school is really on top of things only two weeks into class they put her into a 1st grade reading class. Her teacher Miss Laurie is great. So far so good.

I have had a child in Geiger for 1 1/2years and the school and the principal do nothing about problems and when a child gets beat up all the time the principal is like oh well and the superintendent does nothing about the problems. The teachers there don't care at least the 3 my child has had. They keep losing teachers and whats up with the principals. I have to remove my child from that school and taking her out of the district all together. I have also started a lawsuite against the district for not protecting my child which is the law. Pull your child out now if you can.

I have had children at Geiger for over 10 years. The past two years have been hard but there is a new principal now and I am very encouraged by the direction that Geiger is taking. Geiger has wonderful Teachers who care deeply for their students. I would recommend Geiger to anyone!

I have had two children in Geiger since 1996. I am choosing to take my child out of Geiger due to the poor leadership of the principal and lack of District help with this problem. The test scores have steadily lowered and I believe that is due to poor leadership teacher apathy and lack of support of parent involvement.

This used to be one of the top elementary schools in Tacoma but has deteriorated year by year with the changing principals. Disciplinary problems are abundant. There are some really great teachers but they do not get support from the principal. The best thing about this school is the great parent involvement and the PTA but there is not much cooperation from the principal.

I am a manager of some apartment homes located near Geiger. I love the fact that my elementry school is Geiger. I think it's a pretty good school from what I have heard from other residents with children who attend Geiger. The students are always talking about the cool things going on at their school and just the fact that they like their school says a lot.

My niece lived with me last school year. She'd moved here for a short period of time from out of state. She'd always run home from school and tell me great things about her teacher & their classroom activities. It made me happy to know she was welcomed into a really great school. I still live near Geiger and can only hope that when my 16 month old goes to kindergarden Geiger will be as great if not greater!

While there are individual teachers who are exellent this school lacks cohesive leadership and this results in confusion and annimosity between the teachers and the parents.
