I couldn't be happier here. The teachers here are the best. The reading program is excellent. I moved here from a very large school district that I thought was going to be hard to beat. South Orangetown is an excellent district. So happy we moved here. There are so many programs offered. There are also many opportunities for parents to be involved. My kids are all excelling. I couldn't imagine my kids going to any other school!

This is a true team - work and play together - all for the children.
Overall the quality of the education is good especially the reading programs. My biggest issue is with the cultuure of the school. There is an excess of junk food used as reward by parents and teachers and pop culture tends to influence the choice of materials used to teach the children. Why oh why do the children need to sing the Spongebob Squarepants theme song at a dance festival? Horrible when there are so many higher quality lovely children's songs from around the globe to choose from. Office staff and school nurse absolutely cranky.
I think this school has great kindergarten teachers.
My daughter attends the Early Childhood Program (Pre K)here and it's been a wonderful experience. The teachers are highly skilled and genuinely enjoy the children. The Program Director is very competent warm and helpful.
The school and teachers are great however the principal is...how to put this...hopeless.
