Our family's experience with the PG Elementary School & the PG Middle School was not favorable. My 5 year old son has Asperger's Syndrome & ADHD. The teachers & administrative staff at the elementary school were not accommodating or helpful at all. Most of the time they just sent him to the office and asked us to pick him up even after we developed an IEP based on a 504. The school staff did not seem willing to help beyond what they felt they had to legally. My 11 year old son was bullied continuously for two years even after many meetings and phone communications with the middle school staff. Both of my sons dreaded going to school @ Pleasant Grove. So after we exhausted all resources with this school we moved them to Texarkana ISD where they are excelling and are happy. My wife attended Pleasant Grove ISD for 6 years in the 1980's and she has the same outlook on this school. We were expecting more from a newer school that has high school tax rates and found our satisfaction lacking.

My children attend and they have came home to tell me that their teachers and children say very rude and hateful things to them. I did address the issue with a few of the teachers and it got resolved however the bullying issue is more than enough for us to pack our things and LEAVE! My husband is a former graduate and he told me of the bullying issue when he attended. Shame on the staff for not seeing the terrible issue at hand. As far as academically I have seen better. I would NOT recommend this school to anyone considering I went to a school that met every aspect for a perfect school.. Too bad there are no "thumbs down" button.

We moved to this school from St. James Day School (a private school in Texarkana) and have been more than pleased! This is a public school with a private school feel. Teachers are very nurturing and caring. Academics have been outstanding! So glad to have made the switch!

My children have gone to schools in 3 different states & I can honestly say it is the BEST school!!! We love the teachers....you can tell they love their job & the children! My children have learned so much since moving here!!!

Pleasant Grove may have excellent Taks scores and challenging academic programs but it also has a very serious bullying problem.. It is dangerous and the admin staff needs to take this serious..

I could not be more pleased with such a caring and concerned staff.

First of all excellent teachers work at Pleasant Grove Elementary School! The teachers take a special interest in each student they teach and help them achieve their full potential! I salute their teachers and appreciate them more than words can say! Secondly this school has a wealth of parental support and lots of the parents (and even grandparents) volunteer their time to help at the school on a daily basis as well as for special events! This in turn makes the school an even better place to send my kids!

My child started Kindergarten this year (2008-09) plus I am a former graduate. The acadmics are great and so are the quality of teachers. The only con I can say is that the administration (principal asst princ & super) are not the most friendliest - they all walk around with a mad unhappy look on their faces. Thank God the teachers are not that way!

Pleasant Grove Elementary has been a wonderful experience. We have moved to Texarkana and are so pleased with the staff level of education and the precautions Pleasant Grove takes to keep the students safe. I would suggest to any parent if all possible they should place their child in the Pleasant Grove school district.

We moved to the area and settled based on the reviews and recommendations for this school and have never been so dissatisfied. Our children started the school year with well above average rankings and will leave having not progressed at all and ranking average. There was no effort by the teacher (who were very nice to challengethem to their level and helping them to progress. They watched an unbelievable amount of television (including PG movies) and ate the most unhealty food possible food if they ever ate school lunch. Very unimpressed!

Excellent quality of education at this school. Students are challenged above state minimum requirements and are enriched with many different programs. The teaching staff is wonderful and caring and invested in the success of the school.
